View Full Version : Help!! Ka-t wont start unless fuel injectors are off

UMM I HAVE A PROBLEM AN I NEED SOME OPINONS.. I JUS FINISHED PUTTING TOGETHER MY KA-T( CP PISTONS, EAGLE RODS, COMETIC HEAD GASKET, ARP STUDS, BRIAN CROWER CAMS AND VALVE SPRINGS AND RETAINERS, 370CC INJECTORS, SAFC NEO) THE ENGINE IS ALL GOOD IN TIMING, BUT IT SEEMS TO NOT GET FUEL OR TOO MUCH FUEL BUT ENGINE WONT START UNLESS I TURN IT OVER THEN DISCONNECT INJECTORS THEN ITLL START RIGHT UP BUT IT WILL NOT IDLE IF I LET THE RPMS DROP BELOW 3K IT WILL SHUT OFF, I WAS WONDRING IF IT COULD BE THE SAFC OR IF THE ECU WENT BAD??? BUT ONE OF MY WIRES RIPPED OFF THE END OF THEPIGTAIL FROM MY MAF AND DIDNT START AF FIRST BECAUSE OF THAT, BUT I PUT THE WIRE BACK I NBUT NOW IT DOESNT START A LITTL EHELP PLEASE.,.... IM CONFUSED:cry:

Wow your pretty close to Yucaipa.... I had the same problem when I went KAT...with almost the same exact setup...

First did you actually solder the wire back on the MAF??? Its pretty sensitive...

At first I put the stock injectors back in and ran for awhile...you have to have your settings perfect with the NEO for the 370cc to work. After forking around with it for awhile we set all the Fuel Injector settings to the lowest negative setting...at first it was so bad I was literally dripping fuel out of the Muffler.

I had BEE thats his nickname at DFR (Design For Race) help me out his shop is in San Bernardino,ca he is right next to MAACO..

He is a Honda Guru but he knows Turbo stuff on all cars and he helped me out.

what are your setting for your safc? check your in and out for the maf and what are your running for correction?

Since it runs while the injectors are disconnected that indicates a large fuel leak at the injectors. If they weren't then there's no way the engine should be running with them disconnected.

Large fuel leak + active injectors = too much fuel to run = no start.
Large fuel leak + disabled injectors = almost too much fuel to run = engine has to run at 3000 rpm to bring enough air in.

i already fixed it thanks for the help. it was the safc i needed to lean it out to about -29 and then the in out was wrong
