I used to be into drag racing but I'm leaning towards drift now. I'm working on taking some vacation time later in the summer and coming home for a little while. I'm planning to drive home right now.

Sweet, we got a camera lots of cool stuff, im going to see if we can reserve track time at AARF, or we could just go to this one parking lot, but i want to do both. What kind of 240 you have, any mods?

89 hatch, pretty stock just a C's short throw and a JIC rear strut tower bar. I just got it last November and haven't had too much extra time or money to put into it, plus it just got hit in February so now the body needs a lot of work. But it keeps me happy.
If ya want I could bring a camera too, I got it just for car stuff, I usually take a rubber band and strap it to the passenger headrest cus it's pretty small.

Later in the summer would be best. I just burnt up some vacation time going out of country. So, it'll be later in the summer before I can do too much. The time I'd need to drive back, be there and drive back, it'd definitely be around August or September. Sometime in those two months would be best for me to show. If that's too late, sorry but that's best that I can do. I'd love to be there, it sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun but that is the time frame I'm looking at. Let me know...

What is aarrf? Sorry, but I don't know any about all the acronyms being thrown around.
Hey guys...
Check out:
www.aarrf.com
...and...
www.driftunderground.com
There are videos, dates and information on both sites.
There is drifting and road racing at every AARRF event at MHSC and DCTC this summer. We will also have a Drift Underground drift event(s) that we are planning as well...

Driving time, or actual 'road time' is around 21 - 24 hours. That's with a 5 hour nap at a truck stop.... :D That's to either Joshua Tree - San Diego...

i'd consider it. only if it was a 3 day weekend. and it would have to be one of beef's organized ones. sounds like he knows what he's doing and has his act together (no offense meant of course). example: if i got monday off. take off friday, leave thursday after work, crash at my bro's in minn. and drive on saturday. leave sat night restop sleep somewhere and get hoem by monday night type stuff.
i'd do it. well, that is if the gas prices are low ;)
i love drifting. and ive never driven across US.
hmm
only if 3 day weekend, i can make it. otherwise hell no.

I would definitely come, but I dont' think I have enough experience to drift yet. And I don't want to embarrass my self :). I also have friend that would definitely come, and he has some track experience, but only off-track drift experience. I have to speak for him cause he isn't much of a message board guy. He also is the new engine installer for autoimaging (may not be official).
mods:
my car:
91 SE Hatch
GP sports Spec D pro exhaust
kazama hicas eliminator on the way
sr20det on the way

04-02-2003, 11:46 PM
Drifitng is all about having fun.. if anyone says different, they're taking away from it.. an LSD is a definite plus! more push around the corners..
For everyone else concerned, I found out the dates I should be in the area. Some time around September 20th. I and the car should be in the area some time before and after that date. Most of you may think that's WAY TOO late but with current events in the world, that's the safest time frame I can do..
I do wear a tree-suit after all..

I'm in if it's on a sunday or better yet, a 3-day weekend and well organized. If some drift stars show up, I'll take off work. I can bring at least 2 more people from club4g.com. I'll let those guys know about this too, so you might get even more people. I have a drift prepared z31 and I should definetly have the silvia together before the event. We have been starving for drift events here!

I was just at the RSR drift event this last weekend, I don't see why not. I'm just one person but I don't think it would be a problem. Providing it didn't get 'too' outta hand, I think it would be a good time. Where I'm used to racing and drifitng, it was all about fun. Who showed up is who came out to play. We all had fun together, 180's, Silvia's, a Skyline or two, an S14 or two and of course the cuckoo's came out in force but it was all a good time..

We will eather have it at AARF or this track, we will see
MHSC is the MN Highway Safety Center, it's the St. Cloud facility that AARRF uses. ;) To answer the question, no, it's not the same place. The facility that Oni is talking about is in the White Bear Lake area.
First AARRF event is next Thursday, 4/17 at DCTC. My car won't be ready yet but I may stop by.

If you build it, they will come.
The problem is your event is still kinda up in the air.
Judging by the amount of interest, I would think you could expect anywhere from 25-40 participants. The problem is you lack details. Pick a date, don't try to please any one person, just pick one, a Sunday would be best for those coming from a ways away. Pick a nice wide unimposing track, with a layout where you can do different activities (wet section, open practice area, turns on the course). Figure out costs. Make a nice post with pictures of the track, directions, and all said info and you will be rollin.
