unless you have a fixed steering column without a quick-release and a bucket seat while being 6'7"....you dont really need the flat bottom. they are flat to make it easier to get in and out.
buuuttt if you dig them, go for it dude. its YOUR decision.

D shaped wheels look really uncomfortable for a car that you need to turn lock to lock often, like a DD, or a drifter.

Yep, this is pretty much it.
They look cool and make sense in cars that you aren't turning hand over hand.

both those wheels dont work for drifting. Just so you know.
And flat bottom will definatly not work.

A round wheel is a better choice for most all applications. Not everyone drifts their cars though. Some people actually drive them.

what!?!?! people drive cars!?:D
but picture a go cart steering wheel and imagine having to turn that more than 360 degrees it would suck!! :2c:

I got a super cheap Momo D and its really not that bad, I bet most havn't even used one before. It is fugly tho.
Flat bottom wheels are primarily used in formula cars to give extra leg clearance on a low mounted steering column.

I have been DDing on a flat bottom momo wheel for over two years. I've never had an issue with it, actually i love the extra room it gives me for my legs (I'm 6'3 230 lbs). It also sits nicely on my desk when i remove it at night. For drifting I could see it being more of a challenge, but once you get used to the wheel its fine, way better than stock for comfort. Its fatter, has better ridges and if you use your palm to move the wheel (not hand over hand), it doesnt slow you down at all.

I like feeling the steering wheel shuffle
It would feel weird when the wheel kicks back and it smacks you in the hand
