I have a pair of PUMA speed cats, and I am getting pair of DC chicanes for christmas.
Not full out racing shoes, just driving, but I like them. They are both pretty comfortable.

I have (but never use) a pair of those PUMAs that Teddy posted.
I don't feel any difference in using those compared to using regular shoes.
Then again, I don't get thick soled shoes to begin with...

Lol I was just gonna say, my racing shoes are regular low-top Pumas. Classic.
And my "other" racing shoes are:

I got the Reebok Driving Evolution Low for $20 (normally $65) on a crazy combination of a wicked Finish Line deal on Tax Free Weekend a few years ago (2006).

Generally I like to use wider shoes because it makes it easier to heel-toe, and I don't have to move my foot as much.

I've got two pair of Puma Drift Cats
http://www.shoes.com/ProductImages/shoes_iaec1114991.jpg
Not this color. One pair is Black/Yellow/White the other is Blue/White/Black/Silver (paid $20 a piece)
I also have two pair of Adidas Goodyear shoes
http://s.onlineshoes.com/images/br029/148192_366_45.jpg
Light Brown and Dark Brown
------------------------
I like driving in these compared to my other shoes because they are a bit more narrow and the sole is thinner. Because of this I can move my foot around easier and my knees don't sit as close to the steering wheel.
I'm 6'0 a lot of leg and a size 13 shoe. I have to driving positions:
1.) Close to the steering wheel allowing me to keep a bend in my elbows and shift properly, but my knees sit close to the steering wheel and my hands hit my knees when turning
2.) Far enough back so my knees sit comfortably below the steering wheel, but I have to lean forward to rotate the wheel 180*.
My favorite shoe that I ever owned in this category was Reebok that Rank posted. You could really feel the pedal with that shoe, so you always knew where you foot was on the pedal.

edit:
O/T, but the previous 3 post where 3 minutes apart

Most racing shoes i have used are uncomfortable to walk in because of the lack of support. They are made to be sensitive to the pedal and nothing more.
I use Alpine Stars after leaving my last pair at the track unfortunately.
The Redline Time Attack series i participate in mandates the use of them now.
For fire safety reasons.

I have a pair of these, but in the Daijiro Yoshihara edition. Don't really wear them since they no longer make them. I have them more as like a collectors item I guess. haha.

Sparco's, I forget the model. They suck to walk around in though, which is good cuz wearing them around wears them out. I have big feet so the little shoes help. Now that i have a kid I am considering going with full safety gear, maybe even a hans device. As stupid as it would look at a trackday me and the wifey would feel much better about it. Besides I can get all the shit, including the hans, for stupid cheap.

I cant "drive" with boots or big sneaks, gotta be like a runnin shoe puma ftw.
If I found the tan puma's for $20 Id buy 10 pair. so hot.

CHUCKS thats how i roll!!!!!!!!!
Chucks are awsome!!
But for HPDE days, I like my Piloti Mullholland II's. Nearly all of Piloti's shoes are very supportive and provides good pedal feedback.

i used to wear my addidas, not real driving shoes, but similar, and less dorky looking.
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d123/LongGrain/steeple.jpg
but then i realized its drifting, not nascar, fancy shoes are not required. so now i just wear my street shoes.

Oh shit, I could have bought those shoes, but I bought the all white ones instead. They are pretty cool for driving.
I also tried out some wrestling shoes by Asics.. the Matflex shoe.
they look very similar to these, and were only $40.
