Searched. This is the first I've heard of this.

Buddy has a blown sr. When asking for advice on what to do, this was one of the responses:

check it.
Throw a KA in the gold car.
Take all your SR shit. Wiring harness, ECU, injectors, MAFS. ya know, all your shit.
Take that stock SR mani, cut the flange to the head, flip it. throw that mother fucker on the KA.
Take your CAS put it on the KA.
Remote mount your coilpacks.
That shit is apparently the hot fire.
Thats what im gonna do when my SR lets go.

Guy claims it will run with the stock sr tune.

I can't find any info on this, so I'm not sure if he's just jerking our chain or if this really is possible. Thanks in advance for any input.

It might be possible and run... but I wouldn't even want to test that setup without a tune.

i am in the process of making a sr harness for a 4g63... the KA will work if u tune it.

it wouldn't call SR24 b/c it won't be using SR block or head, or anything internal related to SR.

That's a guy from ka-t.org used SR ECU, harness, and coilpacks on his KAT, stock internal, and pushes over 450rwhp IIRC

Guy claims

...then it must be true.

Yeah you can use many SR parts on a KA (which would still be a KA, btw), but to assume that the SR ecu will simply be plug & play is a bit foolhardy. I, for one, would LOVE to the SR CAS mounted on a KA.

Yeah, I mean, I realize that simply plugging in an sr ecu would be far from optimal (an extra .4l might throw off the tune just a little bit.... [/sarcasm]).

I guess I just thought it sounded interesting...

I, for one, would LOVE to (see?) the SR CAS mounted on a KA.

Just did a quick search. Apparently it has been done, although I couldn't find any pics...
