Other than physical length, the only difference between s13 and s14 struts is the top mount, correct? And of course a different spring rate.

Hmmm.... But what about the upper mounts?

Yeah. Well, I just wanted another opinion. I'm positive they're different. The mounts on an s13 are smaller (in total diameter) than in s14.

Looks like I have some business to settle.

I'm almost positive the rear S14 shock mounts are larger than the S13 ones.

I am not saying anyone is wrong but KYB is a pretty good company nad they have both chassis listed the same.

When I bought KYBs they didn't come with upper mounts anyway.

Yes, for the record S14 rear upper mounts are larger.

Second question. Would I be able to swap my rear upper mount onto rear coilovers that have the s13 top mount?

I know some have used the camber pillow ball mounts on shock/spring combos with little mods - but vise versa not sure - I never tried it and why would you want to take off the pillow mount on the coilover for a stock shock mount anyways?

We're talking rear here. Damn, are you some kinda illiterate?

Rear doesn't have pillowballs.

This is my problem...

Now you get it?

gotta make sure you have the right spacers/sleeves on the shock to the top hat or it'll be loose and break or too small and won't go together.

but yeah the top hats should interchange between coilovers from the same company.

Wait... what?

Your first post said strut. The rear is clearly not a strut. So for the rear shock, yes, the S14/S15 upper mount is larger in diameter with the studs further apart. It will not work on an S13 chassis. The front though will work fine, they're all the same bolt spacing for S13-S15.

Oh wait, you're dumb/cheap as fuck and you're trying to put coilovers on stock top hats?

yeah, go for it dude, whatever happens happens.

I realize this. What I need to know is if I can take my OEM strut upper mount, and mount it on the rear coilovers I got. Apparently I got lied to when I bought "s14 coilovers" on here. Ksport wants $78 a piece for the upper mounts, and I really don't want to eat that. I got the fronts on (which is odd if they're s13 coilovers, with the bigger bolts and all), but the rears don't work, because they have the smaller, s13 mount.

No, I got lied to by the guy I bought them from here on Zilvia. So fuck off.

Nice edit. Thanks for trying, honestly... But man you gotta learn to read.

NRR is a good forum, you should join. But besides that, you just need to make sure the ID of the stock shock mount is the same as the coilover strut. Take them both apart, measure and compare. Then if you need to just get a sleeve spacer to reduce the ID of the stock housing, but it looks like the same OD shock shaft from the pics.

Take it apart and it should answer your questions.
