1992 Nissan 240sx. S13 sr02det swap.
everything ran fine for the longest time.

we'll today, I was selling the car to my friend. and before she was going to drive out to me (1hr 20mins) i decided I was going to make sure everything ran perfectly fine so she wouldn't have any problems whatsoever.

so I'm driving the car, pulls fine, no problems and what not, I park it pop the hood, rev up and hear the bov blow off, then all of a sudden the car died?

so I'm like hmm...interesting..so I go back sit in the car, turn the key and nothing happens?

All the lights work (dome light, headlights flip up and done fine, dashlights)
the only thing that doesn't work is the: 4 little red dots on the right side of the cluster (seatbelt, oil batt etc) and when I turn the key the fuel pump doesn't prime nor does my stereo power on.

very weird...can anyone pinpoint any location by me saying this?

I've checked all the fuses from the engine bay and in the kick panel and none are blown, they all checked out fine. I pulled my ecu out, and turned the key and the light doesn't even flash.

anyone?:sadwavey:

did you check your connection for the battery?

Yea the connection is there to my battery.

the terminals are fine, and It's getting power to the battery.

what do you mean by its getting power TO the battery ? does it click at least when u turn the key ?

we'll good point^

no it doesn't click.

the headlights, dome light, cluster lights and everything else gets power from the battery

but the ignition doesn't.

does that make sense?

I have a turbo timer installed on the car, that might be the culprit?

try unplugging the timer and starting the car than you'll know its not the culprit.

Take it as a hint from your car...she doesn't want you to sell her.

happens all the time. disconnect the negative terminal. tap it on the battery you will see it spark. clean the terminal. put it back on. start the car.

I had a problem similar to this... wasn't with a nissan tho. Try moving the wires going to the starter.

I would say starter problem...but since you said your fuel pump isn't priming my guesses are:

1. blown relay or fuse somewhere
2. fried ECU

hopefully it's the former. check all underhood relays and fuses related to ignition stuff. And last check the relay under the dash near the ECU.

but it's def a possibility that the turbo timer is interfering with the ignition.

as for the stereo not turning on that's jus weird. clean the terminals on ur battery to be safe

Starter WTF, a starter would cause the car to die. If you have a turbo timer installed the splice in the ignition wiring could be coming loose or have a bad connection. There's definately a bad connection here. You could have possibly not had an entirely good ground causing some power wire to run hot and melt. Just time to bust out the mulitmeter and start doing alot of continuity tests

THANKS GUYS.

I'm going to check everything you all said right now. I'll be back with the update, hopefully I can get this car running. It's really fucking weird the day I decided to sell it; it just fucks up!

also keep note, that when I turn the key to accesories or in the on position, the ecu light does not come on. and it's grounded properly.

also my viper alarm system doesn't work either, when I click lock or unlock it does nothing same with arm'/disarm.

I'm going to pull the entire wiring from the battery and everything brb.

just throwing this out there, had a similar thing happen to me, but you might want to double check your ignition fuse.

My car has the same issue.

Check the battery, my terminals where cloose and I tightened them up and now it rarely happens. :D

check your ignition circuit from key hole to alarm and to turbo timer something is not energizing the ignition relays this only happens afte rinstaling a alarm or turbo timer either your alarm relays are fucked or the turbo timer is check those connections im almost sure it has to do with that.. i had a alarm go out on me and i had all the same symptoms you are describing (viper alarm too)
