My 240 has been acting up and got to the point where i was overheating so bad that I couldn't drive more than 15 miles before i had to pull over and wait for it to cool down.
Made it home today and checked everything out in the garage, my stock cooling fans have not been activating at all and are completely shot.
At this point I'm thinking of upgrading the radiator and fans all together. I ran across the mishimoto radiator and hose kit for my car at a decent price, but I also saw on their website they have bolt on fan shroud kits that come with slim fans for the 240.
I'm thinkin about gettin it all at once so I can get the full package and not have to worry about replacing this stuff in the future. I know plenty of people who vouge for the mishimoto radiator and hoses so im not worried about that but has anyone checked out the fan shrouds yet? anyone with personal experience using them?

i've never used them, but i'd say go for it, having a fan without a shroud is a bad idea, your not getting the full benefit of the fan itself without them.

I seen a while back on a local forum someone selling a Taurus fan with a bolt on shroud for a pretty decent price, those Taurus fans pull mad CFMs and the bolt on shroud makes it a easy to install affair for our cars.
Description: This is the HolyNegativeCamber.com fan assembly. It is the most bad ass electric fan setup for the hard-core driver. It is a 2 speed fan that flows 2500cfm(low) and 4500cfm(high). With the shroud built for use with either the KA or SR stock or koyo radiator. You can just bolt it right on and go to the track.

You will not be dissappointed with this setup. By far the best investment you can make for a track car (or street car for that matter). Also this fan setup needs to have a heavy duty relay rated at a min. of 40amps.

As far as mishimoto I have heard good stuff about them. Im planning on running their aluminum radiator when the time comes.

I used my stock pushing fan(from my non exsistent AC condenser) and a flexlite electric as a normal fan, i wired both to a thermostate and they work great. I also have a stock shroud. Not that its super hot here regularly but it does a good job.
And yea mishimoto is good shit.

Thanks a lot for the info guys, I saw pictures of the fan shroud installed on mishimoto's bright orange s13 and it looks really good. I went ahead and ordered the rad, hoses, and fan shroud so we'll see how everything works when it comes in.
The taurus fan idea seems sweet but i cant stand the giant plastic shroud, the mishimoto shroud is polished aluminum and just looks a lot cleaner. its a lot smaller too, its only about 2 inches thick total including the fans.
Anyway I picked up the mishimoto rad, hoses, and fan shroud for about 50 bucks more than just the koyo radiator wouldve cost me alone. Cant beat it, plus i got the hoses in red to match the car :)
I'll keep you posted on the install, thanks guys!

I made my radiator shroud from a big baking sheet that covers my whole radiator.
I just cut out where the fans go and where the inlet and outlet is. done.
on top of that I have the stock one, but thats more for visual purpose to keep my engine bay looking more lowkey

anyone know if the mishimoto shroud kit is designed to work only with their own radiators? I recently got a JVT-R radiator and im thinking about picking up this shroud kit

^Why would you make a fanshroud out of aluminum? There's a reason they use plastic...
