Check Engine Comes and Goes?....

Okay guys so randomly a couple nights ago my check engine light turns on then goes away when im about 10 minutes from home. Then the next day my dad drives the car and it turns on again then turns off a few hours later. Then when i went to drive it it was gone, came back, and went away within a 2 hour time frame. We replaced the spark plugs and wires then. After we had to run to the store and the light was off for a while but randomly turned on again then off after like 15 mins.
We havent checked for codes but maybe there is something that you guys may know that can cause this?

Just wondering but is it converted like auto to stick? Just wondering cuz mine does that sometimes but when the light goes on it stays on for like a couple days then goes away for a week then comes back.

My Check Engine Light does the same thing only the light flashes at idle and stays on when I give it gas.. sigh, it's always something.

s13 or s14?

If s13 going from auto to manual shouldn't throw any codes. That only happens with the s14 as it needs the other sensors to wired in for no codes to be thrown.

its a 13 but i think it has something to do with me running 3in piping all the way no cat on a ka24de cuz when i went to do my smog i threw on my cat and it went away for aslong as i had the cat on idk

i've got the same thing on mine... the light comes and goes as it pleases. my code read to be 32, EGR Malfunction.

here's a list of more codes (http://www.240sx.org/faq/articles/ecm_codes_doch.htm). it says they're for the S14 but they *might still apply .. just something to look at in case your code isn't listed in the first link.
