sr or ka doesnt matter
just wondering what everybody is running..
im thinking im gonna give the hockey pucks a try. while i look around for something decent. plus i dont care about driveability. rumbles shakes what ever... the car is shit can'd and all heim jointd up.

im going for hockey pucks also... my only problem is i live in a tropical island... little cold = no snow = no ice... (theres a ice rink... but that doesn't count as there being places to hockey...) so nobody plays ice hockey, all i can get are street pucks...
anybody know a good place online to order them?
besides those... i would say most solid mounts are nicely fabricated (from eye view...) and stock ones well --> cheap, realiable and not harsh...
or fill them with that window repair epoxy or whatever it is... there's a write up around here cost only a few bucks... if i find it ill post it up here...

if you don't matter about comfort, just go solid, its not THAT bad IMO... all my evo friends and most honda friends just make solid mounts and they daily and also do long trips in they're cars... to put it this way, a friend of mine has a evo8 with 272 I/E cams... solid mounts(all of them) and the roof would look like it was a damm earthquake JAJAJAJA put inside you really didnt feel THAT MUCH... if you can take coilovers you can take solid mounts... at least thats the way i feel/think with a really bad damaged back...

I'll never use any aftermarket mounts. (besides maybe switching to nismo) I like my ride quality

for something that i don't need to perform i will never use anything thats not stock or close to stock... i daily my car but i also track it sometimes... so im going with solid i can take the little discomfort... but if its just a daily car that really isnt gonna see track or abuse or anything close to that... just put on stock (or nismo if nissan...) mounts...

Nismo mounts raise the engine slightly, which sucks.
JGS mounts are the best aftermarket mounts you will buy. If your worried about ride quality go with the rubber ones.
Iv got the poly ones and i love them. Chassis rattles a bit at idle, bump up the idle and it fixes the problem. They are still KINDA harsh, but its subjective.

Nismo mounts don't really raise the engine.
The stock engine mounts are just old and start to sink.
Solid motor mounts?
eww, no thanks.

They do, just a little bit. There is an article in one of the drift tengokus with the differences.
I have Kazama motor mounts, daily driving gets some getting used to, and long trips (2+ hours) really suck, but I wouldn't trade it for anything softer...

nice nice.. ill look into them.
i dont mind the harshness of the ride. if i cared i wouldnt be running megan tracks and heim joint everything etc.
just lookn to put something in for when the car goes in for its cage
what about peak mounts, any good???

ive ran solid mounts from project silvia. it didnt bother me that much maybe except that my rear view keeps shaking down and i would have to reposition it every 5 mins.
im gonna run nismo mounts this time around. and see how it goes.
if its not stiff enough then you can just fill it. to make it stiffer.

jgs mounts on my sr, I love 'em! Nismo mounts, I didn't see any difference between them and the stock ones so I don't think they are worth it but good for replacement..

I got the Nismos and noticed a huge difference with just the tranny mount and passenger side mount. I haven't done the driver side mount yet. But my pass. side mount was in two pieces so I guess I would notice a difference.

Nismo Motor Mount and Transmission Mount
well...new mount is definitely better than a 18 year old mount thats in 2 pieces.....

the hockey puck mount thing isnt that bad. i liked that much better than my current solid mounts. solid mounts can be horrid if you have loose panels, finders, change, etc like that. If your engine isnt running smoothly then enjoy the shake down your car will put on you at idle lol

i had stock mounts. in GOOD condition
upgraded to nismo's did'nt notice any difference.
upgraded to Cusco's, somewhat stiffer.
Now i've got Avid Racings engine and tranny solid aluminum mounts.
They are pretty stiff, but i'm used to them now.
defff not for the weak at heart.

Hockey pucks suck! Not only did they lower the engine, the bolts need to be offset, and ive noticed they made my engine sit funny which made my driveshaft destroy the center bearing bushing.
you need 2 and a half pucks to get close to stock height, but then you have to deal with the bolt being crooked because tthe OEM's are offset.

I have nismo ones for 2+ years with a poly insert in the trans mount. Haven't really had a problem with them.

I have all 3 JGS solid mounts. The tranny mount was a bitch, you gotta cut up and drill your stock x-member, which for what I paid, imo that shit should bolt in.
JGS solid motor mounts are sweet, raised the engine a bit, but fuck it. The car vibes like hell but Its all good.

I recommend the Peak Performance Motor Mount with Trans Mount.
Keep the Red Inserts for Street - Get the Black Inserts for Track Use.

aren't you supposed to drill the pucks with the offset? i mean like not in the exact middle of them? and you could use 3 and be higher than stock...
i never heard of anybody having that problem...

I'm running the Project Nissan mounts and I love them.
They don't honestly make the car shake that bad but if you have anything loose, you'll sure the hell find out. After everything is secured it's fine.

cant wait for the 09 version of this thread to appear, hazaa for nothing new.
my .02 cents though
nismo is plenty fine for dd; no new vibrations, no noticeable negative difference in ride quality
no engine clearance issues after install in my s13

I'm running stock bad ones in my hatch, and nismo motor/trans going in the coupe.

KA motors aren't balance, I dunno how SR. Honda's and I believe EVO's are all balance. So it isn't that bad for them.
I driven a S13 with the PP mounts street version. Those were pretty sniff it good too drive. He didn't like and switch to Nismo.
I say do one of the solid mounts or PP track stuff.

Peak Performance solid engine/tranny mounts, red urethane compound. Steering wheel vibrates, but nothing too bad.
