Sorry Guys,
I have been searching trying to find my answer and might not have searched hard enough soo. I rebuilt my Ka24de swap before it went in just for security and state of mind that every thing is fresh. Well i got lazy one night putting intake back on and didn't silicon intake gasket. Started up last night and forgot to switch on my electric fans got and got hot. Determined it wasn't comming from head gasket but the water jackets on intake....:wtc: So not much of a question here other then has this happened to anyone else? Also possibly of pulling head again for head gasket what you guys think? Also when i did swap everything was plugged in correctly but i have no R.P.M reading or Speedometer.. HOw would i fix this. Thanks
let flamming began if his is covered somewhere.

if you removed the emissions did you re reroute it to the vaccum lines my freind did that on my motor and i didnt know untill i checked the motor. als when you went twin cam did you change the cluster because if you didnt put the twin cam cluster in thats why your rps arent reading,.

Fuck does that have to do with his question?
OP- what gasket are you talking about? The intake/head gasket has to be there or you'll leak coolant from the upper neck, if so you're just low on coolant. What else happened other than the needle registering hot?

The gasket That sandwiches between the intake and head yes. It was leaking above the head, which indicated it wasn't head gasket.I was told though that there has to be silicon around the water jacket area's so it doesn't leak.Besides the needle registering hot just a leak from behind the intake that's about i it was shut off pretty quick. So i do need a dohc cluster now also?

I can not figure out for the life of me what is going on. I have searched and have been searching trying to figure out what it could be. Basically i Have a vacuum leak of some sort. I have pretty much replaced all vacuum lines and all that good stuff. Problem is car fires right up but struggles to keep at steady idle, and has a bad whistle. I have sprayed carb clean to find where the leak is comming from area wise. I replaced egr gasket it was bad had a leak from there but wandering if egr is stuck open or what. If any of you could point me somewhere it would be great. If some one local (Irvine) that wouldn't mind helping out a fellow zilvian that would be greatly appreciated. I will buy you food or something.Got to know what you doing though.lol
