Wiper Fuse Keeps Blowing.. Please HEEEELLLPPP..

Ok so as the title states the Wiper Fuse feeps blowing in my '91 240SX.. I already replaced the fuses (A few times) and I even replaced the actual Wiper Motor which seemed to work for the drive home but not this morning.

I'm stuck and it's raining pretty hard over here in the 818, so if anyone can please help me out I'd appreciate it very much. Thank you

i would inspect the wiring, it may be shorted out somewhere

Do a battery pull test.

yea ok hes gonna do a pull test in the middle of rain with probably no equipment for it. its most likely a short, it could be a motor thats shorted out or maybe even your wiper switch or all the wire that runs from under the steering wheel column to the motor if you really need to get em working and if you wanna risk it you can by pass the fuse and just get a paper clip and put it in place of the fuse it will work, also check what amperage fuse your using because it might not be the correct resistance and thats why it keeps blowing out

Electrical shorts can be due to various reasons. A loose wiring harness rubbing up against something, a bad ground wire, a heavy electrical load on the circuit, etc, etc, etc, Whatever the reason may be, you'll have to repair it if you want to continue to use your windshield wipers. Since the windshield wiper is a pretty simple electrical circuit to work on, your best bet is to use the SEARCH function here on Zilvia & see if you can locate a link to a Factory Service Manual for your model year car. Once you find that link, click on it & download the Factory Service Manual appropriate for your model year car.

After you've downloaded the FSM, go to the Body / Wiring section in the FSM and follow the instructions on how to troubleshoot your electrical short problem. You'll need a voltmeter / continuity tester to test the windshield wiper switch, your ground wires and the wiring between the motor & the switch. You should be able to figure out where your problem is and fix it. It's just going to take you time to isolate the problem. If you're not familiar with troubleshooting electrical problems, then you'll have to take your car in to a mechanic or automotive wiring specialist.

This happened to me.

My tire had rubbed through my left side fender harness. I would check that, especially if you have a lowered car.

This is correct. Never bypass a fuse. When the fuse is blowing, there is a reason why.

Most likely you have a faulty ground, or a short in the left front fender harness. Check those two first and look for broken wires.

A broken wiper motor would not break the fuse unless there is a short in the ground wire.
