How do i know if my s13 is an se or not?

also how do i know if it has lsd or super hicas?

im planning in purchasing this car but the owner doesnt know what trims it is...how do i find out...thx

get vin# and run carfax, easiest way
if not
SE - power windows and mirrors, rear wiper arm, spoiler, sunroof.
Now I've seen some SEs missing some or these features...

Hicas - Power steering reservoirs is bigger.
VLSD - there's a sticker on the pumpkin

Hmm.... haven't personally seen Hicas coupes myself. If the paint is original, there's usually a sticker on the side.

89-90 coupes - not SE
all year convertibles - SE
91-93 fastbacks and coupes - may or not be SE depending on equipment

also how do i know if it has lsd or super hicas?

for lsd:

do donut
lift up rear wheels, spin one wheel and look at the other wheel
look for LSD sticker
finned LSD diff cover

pick one


for super hicas

easiest way is to look for mad rear steering angle (steering rack) on the rear axle

That's because all pignose hatches were SE regardless of options.

My SE pignose fastbacks don't have any power window/locks, rear wiper, spoiler, or sunroof.

There are a couple of things wrong with this broad statement:

1. He said "lsd". He didn't say "vlsd". It can be an aftermarket lsd.

2. He didn't say "oem lsd". I assume he wants to know if the car has LSD in general, regardless if the LSD was replaced with aftermarket or another VLSD. The best way to find out if the actual car has LSD is to check and not make any assumptions.

3. He didn't say the car is stock. The car can be heavily modded for all we know.

4. I assume you mean "No S13 has ever left the factory with VLSD except for Super HICAS models". True?

My buddy has actually a HICAS model here in the states... 1st one I ever seen in my life.... I dunno anyone else who actually has a HICAS model, not that it really matters, but its pretty clean.

but either way, carfax wont tell u shit
it will say something like 1991 Nissan 240sx Hatchback/SE
well for mine it said that, and mine is a base model

i'd say best bet is look for sunroof
cuz ive seen a base model hatch with all SE options like power window/mirror, cruise control, but no sunroof

ive got an 89 hatch.

carfax said it was SE.

but no sunroof. or wing.

i do have power windows, power door locks, rear wiper, power mirrors. and i think abs.
