im planing to get on the turbo side with my 1997 ka24de... so this is what im planing to use:

skyline R33 GTR T28 BB turbo
550 cc injectors
Apexi SAFC
Z32 MAF
GReddy 3" complete exhaust
Greddy FMI
top mount manifold

I dont want to spend money in the engine so I plan to keep it stock.

How much boost its capable the stock engine? I was thinking 8-10 psi

and how much power think i could have?

thanks for your help!

Why do people spend all their money on parts and then skimp on the form of tuing they plan on doing. That safc will allow you to smooth out your air fuel ratio but will screw up your timing.

T28 turbo and Top mount typically don't go together. Can be done but why???? anyways I think you need to do some more research.

I can almost come up with a reason for going topmount with a smaller turbo. I would think it would be easier to remove the turbo it it were top mount. I would like to be able to easially switch to a t25 from my gt2871r when going on things like the tail of the dragon and for auto-x. I do however love the power of the gt2871r.
The way my turbo makes power just isnt for all kinds of driving.

I dont know if the op has this kind of reasoning. I kinda doubt it actually. Probably just because it looks cool (which it defenatally does!)

what ever you do get it tuned. the safc can help so much but if your going to be boosting 8-10 psi like you want you need a solid tune. the tune can basicly make or break this setup. if i were you i would ditch the safc and just get a real dyno tune or a daughterboard or something.... stock KA internals can handle a fair amount of power, but im assuming you have low mileage because its a 97 ka. the more mileage the less it can withstand the boost and more power. do a compression test.

to answer your question on a strict basis: it'll last a couple months and it will blow, sorry.

hes going to top mount so that you can cut a hole in the hood and have the turbo pop out that shit is tight

-8-10 psi is about right to keep it safe and reliable but could be pushed a little bit higher if you have a good tuning.
-It's kind of hard to know the HP until you get the car on a dyno, but it's should be around 250hp if not more.

You are forgetting a Walbro 255 fuel pump. If I were you, I wouldn't use a SAFC, I would spend extra money to get the car tuned by a professional tuner on a dyno and have a tuned ECU instead. This will prevent a lot of problems. Spend the extra money, you will thank me later.

There is the stuff you will need to tune your ecu. You can simply change the vq scale for the maf and the k value for the injectors (easy drop down menus for both) and that will be much safer than just going with a safc although I recommend you do more tuning than that once you have the stuff. You could try to tune it yourself just like you were going to do with the safc or you could take it to a tuner and have them do it.
Having a good tune makes or breaks the car in all honesty. You cant just throw parts at a car and take the easy way out, the computer has to be able to controll all this new stuff. A piggy back just wont do that for you properly.
