Ok, I've gotten the dual projectors for my S13 frontend and I'm looking to improve the lighting.
I HAVE searched, but haven't found a write up pertaining to the dual headlights, only the triple projectors. Not sure what the exact difference is between the two, but I'd like to find out before I just start tearing things apart.
This is the informaiton that I've found on the retro fit for the triple
projectors

Looking for ey information for help.
Thank you ahead of time

it will be the same at the tripple, the main issue with the JDM s-13 projectors is the cutoff is all wrong for left-hand drive, plus some feel that the overall light dispersion is bad.

Yeah.. it might not blind your friends, but you're blinding the people ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET
Yours aren't pointing to teh right which is why people complain.. they're pointing left which blinds the opposing traffic.

We used to sell a projector conversion kit, that came with hella projectors, brackets and high output bulbs. That kit is no longer available, mainly because of the above........
Apparently, people dont know nor do they care about having a quality lighting setup. Safety is not a concern for much of anyone nowadays.
Its been said here before, not by me, but there's no sense in selling champagne to folks who are fine drinking malt liquor.

actually my lights point pretty much straight and my cut off is pretty nice and seeing that my car is about 2in off the ground My light should be nowhere near blinding ppl.
Like I said I have driven past my friends while they are in there cars, and they said they are fine. Their cars are also as low as me.

oh...............
im sorry.
i didnt mean to confuse you with the billion other idiots using rebased HID kit in a RHD headlight in a country that requires LHD lighting.

Wow dude I didnt say anything to you, no need treat me like that.
I never said you were wrong. And I know you know all about the Light stuff due to your shop.
Im just saying I tested these lights out before to make sure I dont blind on comming traffic before I decided to drive out on the roads with them. If you look at the pics the cut off and angle is not that bad compared to other ones I've seen, its about mid thigh high down.

Impact Black - I wrote the how-to at the top. It's here on Zilvia as well, though I don't remember where. The same parts will work for the dual-projector; the guy that actually designed and built the brackets did his R&D on dual projectors in fact.
Sileighty 85, sorry dude, and no offense, but it's almost certain your lights are blinding oncoming traffic. It's not where they're pointed (yes, they are pointed straight) but the beam pattern, which on RHD lights goes up and to the left. You can clearly see this in your pictures.
FWIW I ghetto-rigged a set of stock projectors with shields that converted them to LHD, before I did the Hella conversion. They sucked with the stock bulbs, but use something like that, and your drop-ins, and at least that'll be better. In fact, I'll sell 'em cheap if you want.

being on the forums is like being in the wild wild west, you never know who's going to drop by. when folks chit-chat about motors and a reputable motor builder walks in and speaks, I would hope that people shut up and listen. Not trying to sound like some ego maniac, but facts are facts. and this is coming from someone who's been doing this long enough where people know me and respect my opinion and the work that i've been doing for over a decade now.
if you've tested the lights, tell us what tests you've done to ensure the safety of others. explain how this setup is not only safe, but also high quality.

as shown above, the left projector is compliant while the right one should be in the dumpster.

Yeah, and that's after I converted the shield in the right one to LHD pattern... the output on those JDM projectors/bulbs is dismal.

Mike Im not even gonna try to persuade you, cuz I know that I'll be wrong, its not my job for building, R&D lights n' stuff.
Like I said, I never said you were wrong. I just said my lights didnt blind the crap out of ppl when i drove behind them or past them.
I never said they were high quality either, They are better then then the bulbs I had in there. But of course no where better than the one's you produce.

Mike, what about the "brick" headlights? Have you done anything with those? I have had the dual projector lights apart before and I saw the "cutoff" that everyone is referring to. On the dual reflector (brick) headlights is there something similar in there that can be modified to be better? I do not have any problems aiming the light pattern with my "bricks" (like I did with my dual projectors), but the light output is stupid weak.

no, thats the point. when you change something on your car, i think it absolutely IS the owners duty (or the person modifying the car) to ensure that the part meets or exceed the quality and/or performance of stock. if you dont understand what you are doing, then you shouldnt be doing it and should keep your car STOCK.
this applies to individuals. furthermore, i think this should also apply to anyone involved in the industry, from salesman that are selling a product - to folks who work for companies and are involved in the manufacturing process.
-------
aron, here is the basic advice i have for you and everyone on the forum (feel free to make this SINGLE post sticky):
For S13 SILVIA headlights:
- brick headlights = garbage. totally useless headlights.
- dual/triple projectors = useful only w/ projector conversion
For S13 w/ popup headlights:
- sealed beams = garbage
low cost solution = Bosch / Hella, or the best: Cibie. I would not fuck with any other brand, period.
high cost solution = clearcorners.com dual projector setup
For S14 headlights
low cost 95-96 headlight solution = german glass headlights w/ high output bulbs & relay harness
high cost 95-96 headlight solution = custom built headlights (good luck) or 97-98 front-end upgrade
for 97-98 headlights = xenon projector swap
the reason i write good luck for the custom 95-96 headlight setup, is that you can spend tons of time and money and still end up with a setup that is inferior to a nice 97-98 setup. so, think long and hard. chances are, going 97-98 will be the wisest solution. either grin and bear it and deal with halogen 95-96 headlights, or pay the big bucks and go 97-98.
And I'll write this in bold so everyone knows:
- REBASED HID KITS ARE ILLEGAL AND INFERIOR QUALITY. The worst lighting solution - avoid at all costs

Well.. in that case, it's still illegal :naughty:. I have duals and am thinking about being gay and just modify my projectors to make it shoot straight across + HID
Anyways.. I kinda wish I just stayed pop-up and gone with Hella H4 housings

Thank you guys for some helpful input.
My concern is I want everything functional and safe on my car, thus why I made this post.
I was really worried about getting "flamed" on the topic, but I did do some research before the post.
again thank you guys
