Anyone know anything about engine and fuel system additives? DOes anyone know if they work well? If they do which is the best, Duralube, Prolong, Z-max, etc...or if there is another that is better let me know?
If you change your oil regularly using an additive really is not necessary. The only reasons to do so would be:
1) If you are using a full Synthetic oil (red line, moble 1)
2) you are going to leave your car sit over the winter.
The reason for using a product (I use Avblend, zmax's parent formula) with synth oil is the fact that synth oils do not adhere to metal parts like a petrolum based oil. As soon as pressure lube stops the oil wicks away from metal parts leaving them exposed. So, the agent is used as a wetting agent, keeping the parts covered. The same is true of prolonged sitting of petrol based oils over the winter while the car is in storage.
Change your oil on a regular basis, use a good quality of oil, Castrol, Valvoline, Kendall etc and use the correct weight for the season as per the owners manual.

if you buy gasoline at a normal gas station (i.e. texaco, shell, exxon, chevron etc) most of them have already dumped in an insane amount of additives like injector cleaners and purifiers and crap. Exxon adds the most.

Z-max is the best, seriously!!!!! In all three of my cars gas has gone up at LEAST 10% and in my miata i went from 22 to 30 but some of that may be due to the larger 17" wheels which increases the gear ratio. Also, the performance has increased a little but smoothness is now AWESOME.

Well, I had an idling/acceleration problem. So, I used valvoline fuel system treatment. I've once also used CD2 Oil Additive (cleans and quites valves etc...) and have noticed a bit of improvement in how my car runs from this all.
Anyone else with anything?

I personally haven't driven my car in winter yet, so... I'll drive it as little as possible this winter. I'll see how that goes for me...
Last winter, I also used CD2 between oil changes (on my old car), it seemed to help me a bit, I was happy with it.
