how do you loosin the timing chain on a single cam ka too remove the head

remove the tensioner, then unbolt the cam gear from the cam. Make sure you don't mess up the gear's relationship to the chain, if it's off a tooth in either direction it won't run. Use zip ties to keep them together and lay it off to the side, and make sure you're not giving enough slack in the chain for it to come off the drive gear on the crank either, for the same reason.
remember to use a wrench to hold the cam in place, never ever use the chain tension to work against when loosening/tightening the cam gear bolt.
also find the factory service manual online, you'll need it for torque specs & the correct order for which you loosen and tighten things that are sensitive to preload.
