Hi guys.
I am using an internaly gated GT3071R on a T25 flange.
I am boosting 20PSI solid to the red line, and at that boost i am getting in the best case cenario 42lbf flow from the turbo...

This turbo is capable of around 48lbf, and for the engine to reach that, i need to hold about 24-25 psi.

The problem is that i cant get solid boost above 20 psi.....the boost drops to about 17-18, after about 6500.

I have an HKS actuator, streched to the limit..... i might be able to strech it a bit more, but not sure it would help.

With the boost controller off (i.e vaccum line connected directly to actuator), i hardly gets to 10 PSI boost - wich seems low.

I ghater my actuator is too weak to hold the pressure inside the turbine, and the gate gets pushed open from the inside.

Any ideas what i could do, exept going for an eternal gate option ?

Streching the rod more - not sure it will help.
Using meaby a spring on the rod itself ?
Meaby there is some Actuator that can be adjusted with difrent springs etc, that would be stronger ???

Any help , will help !
Thanks.

how old is the HKS actuator?

might be just worn out bro

They have 2 models usually... at least for GT2871R, there is one internally gated for 14 psi and some are internally gate for 9. How to choose and get the spring, just call ATPTurbo.com see if they can answer your question, maybe you just need a different actuator. But with that much boost, an external gate would hold better and give you better turbo response..... Internally gated stuff sucks 18psi and up pretty much...

why would u stretch the actuator, if u want it to boost higher. it should be super tight, i have even seen ppl install washers where the actuator bolts up to pull it back more.

I meant that i made it thighter - sorry for the confusion.
The HKS is new - thats what pisses me off. Its suposed to hold 14PSI - it doesnt.

I aggree that External is better - the question is wheter its worh investing in this solution for the turbo i have.
If i can extract another 50hp or so from it, then yep, if no, the no.....

ATP say they have an interchangable turbine housing for the T25 GT3071 - that has a connection to a TIAL 44mm Externak gate......might be a good solution, if i have enough room for it on the low mount position.....

Dont know...

Add an extra spring to it. Shouldn't take very long at all to stretch a spring from a hole on the WG bracket to the end of the rod and see how much boost you can get.

Will try that before anything else.... Thanks.
