does anybody use different cams offsets? example 256/264 of the same brand/different brand. what about 264/256. any dyno graphs would be helpful as well as setup components. I'm thinking about getting a an HKS 264 11.5mm lift on the intake and have a 256/ 10.5mm lift on the exhaust side. any thoughts? gt2871 turbo will be used with .64 AR.

From what I have read before, for drag setups and for full race setups, the response for a turbo was a 264/272 setup. Heard it was awesome....

I used a stock SR intake with a HKS 256 Step 1 exh and I got more mid range and a little more top end than stock setup. Its slightly noticeable. On turbo setups, it is suggested to have a large exh cam to push the turbo and from that, with the extra velocity from the exh cam, you can create a pull effect and actually pull more air into the combustion chamber because of the difference of air flow from Intake to Exh.

With that, I bumped to a full HKS 264 and noticeably a little more lag about 2-300 rpm, but pulls tall the way to redline whereas my old setup died around 6200RPM or so... So depends what you are looking for in terms of tune....

I lag around 2-3krpm, sucks, I hate it especially for autox, but mid end is scary and I used to race motorcycles 600cc class. (Stock Manifods in/ex, but greddy elbow and blitz all the way back).

With your turbo, it should be a good match I think....

I run a 2871R .86..... I was going to do your setup, but I got these cams CHEAP!! like 200 for both used, but in very good condition with like 2000 miles on it. (Guy blew his motor lol).

If you like I can sell you my HKS 256exh single for cheap....

thanks for the info. as of right now i have hks step 1's in/ex. and power drops off at 6800rpm. i was thinking that maybe i would buy an hks step 2 for intake to breathe slightly better at higher rpm.

It does breathe better, but you will have some lag if you do full 264's.... Try the hybrid 256/264, its just a little more at the top end... Noticeable higher up, but doesn't lag as much I bet, but I can't say you will feel anything mid end....
