Wow, is it that hard to find a decent script these days? I rather they go back to making sequels.
That aside, i don't think this is such a great idea. I can't see Will Smith play the lead. Maybe someone like Micheal Douglas or Gary Oldman, but Will Smith is difficult to see as someone aged and troubled.

I don't think anyone here is calling Will a bad actor. He's not such a great choice for the role (assuming he's playing the lead).
The role really calls for an older more decrepit type. Oldboy is very much a character driven film, despite the elaborate plot.
If the role isn't convincing, it's not going to work at all.

Samuel L. Jackson should play Oldboy, and the bad guy too.

Yes will smith is definately terrible, the movies he does are terrible. Shit dumbed down cliche-riddled crap. Appreciate it Ron, but I do seriously think hes bad.
All downhill since Fresh Prince. Only good scene the dude ever did was when he confronts his father in uncle Phils family room. Word is bond.
duffman watch your mouth.
IMDB shows nothing, I wonder where that guy is getting his info...

dude will smith is great, he was awesome in pursuit of happyness. I usually see him as playing roles that are easy to relate to.
Just hard to imagine him doing the raw stuff that happened in the movie *didnt wanna spoil it for those who havent seen it.*

well he kinda chose to keep a PG rated attitude about everything he does lol
except in badboys he throws out a few cus words lol

yup...will smith feels that if you need to curse inorder to be a "Good performer" then you really aint shit, because anyone can go out and rip off 100+ cuss words in a movie to look like a "bad ass"

i think it should be played by christopher walken
They should get a guy like Benicio Del Toro to do it. Will seems a little too clean cut for the role.

agreed^ great suggestion atom, imho.
Duffy, to answer your question, and I think I will do it in regard to who I would like in the role of O de seu or whatever his name was, Benicio, as someone else said, I think it can just stop there really. Eddie Norton, Pitt, Rappaport, I dunno will smith is like 40 dude.
