I tried searching, but there were no situations similar.

Here goes:

I just droped my car w/ s-tech springs and got KYB AGX on my s14. Now im looking at wheels.

Would this work fine?

16x7 +38 offset..

If I get 17s, is +38 okay? I cant seem to find any good deals on wheels w/ less than +38 offset.

Thanks

No reason they won't work. Stock is +40mm so these will be 2mm flusher, plus the half inch gained by increasing the width of the rim. I have a near identical setup (16x7 +40mm) with only two problems. First is that a half inch isn't nearly enought to bring the wheels flush. It's definetly an improvement over stock, but not close to what I would like. Second is Z brake fitment is unlikely. Some will fit, but from what I've seen, such a low offset tends to require very thin spokes and most won't. If you never plan to upgrade it's not an issue. It will be for me.

Rota subzeros in 16x7 +40mm offset with 225/45/16 kuhmo ecsta 712's

I think my next set will be 17x8's with some 235/40/17's and hopefully an offset in the +20's.

i have kosei k1s 15x7 +27 that barely clear
then i borrow my friends SSR formula mesh 15x7.5 +17 that clear w/ the help of a 30mm spacer and lots of negative camber
do the same w/ the 15x6.5 +14
steelies..ugh. nasty.

Does that clear everything? W/ the 40mm offset??? reason im asking is cuz i might either be getting the subzeros or the slipstreams.

ok here's the situation. stock s13 SE rims are 15x6 am i correct? well i was told that is true for the weird looking s14 base model rims as well. i haev a set of s14 base model rims on my s13 and i plan to run z brakes up front which everyone says will be alright, i was wondering what size spacers i would need to make them flush all around
20 front and 40 rear>?

My rota's fit with everything stock. However, should I choose to run Z brakes they won't fit. The size doesn't mean much though as uiuc240 is running a set of 17x7 +40mm that clear his 26mm Z brakes by about a millimeter. His 7 spokes alloys also clear. My 7 spoke stock alloys don't clear without a 5mm spacer and the rota's don't either. It's all about spoke design.

As for stock fitment though +40mm should be fine in terms of fitment. In terms of style, you have to decide how flush you need them.

the thing im worried about is my kyb agxs. it looks like it might not clear w/ a 40 mm offset. you running stock shocks and springs on that setup?

Four, it will clear. I had 17x7.5 +43 offset and 234/45 rubber. My suspension was eibach sportlines/tokico shocks and those cleared fine, so it should clear agx's too.

Four, are you planning on getting spacers later? +40 offset is high and your wheels will not be flush with the fender. For tires, if you want to keep the speedometer on range, use the tire calculator

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

215/45 might be a better choice or 205.

H&R kit for about $220 at www.optauto.com. I heard their studs are cheap though. Nismo 60mm studs were the recommended brand on this board, for about 8 bucks each. And www.projectsilvia.com had spacers for a pretty good price as well.
