i have been having this issue for about 2 weeks now. the car has 149k on it runs fine ect. i put new plugs in it about 2k ago.

wot, free rev, 50% throttle, 10% throttle anyting i do the car hits a "rev limit" at 5500 now everytime, whatever i do. cold starts hour of driving ect.
it used to rev out perfect all the way up no issues at all. now it runs fine no mis at idle or any other rpm, just that 5500 limit. no hesitation or anything just a rev limit. the car used to rev all the way out perfect.

another weird thing, 2 days ago my buddy and i took it around the block to see what was going on. nothing reved out perfect all the way up ??? no mis, shake nothing. did about 4 pulls and a free rev all perfect. then 15mins later take the car back out and it hits the limit at 5500 again??? same thing ever since.

any ideas on where to start would be awesome

-thanks Dan

had the same problem, check ur nutraul switch and 5th gear switch to make sure they are not faulty. Mine was 5th gear switch, it was grounding out. Had every shop tell me it was the knock but they would of known it wasn't if they actually did their fucking job.

Yeah, just unplug your 4th and 5th gear sensors. 4th has a limiter of 5500 iirc and 5th is at 5K. That could be your issue right there. Worth a try and there are no side affects of doing it. Just be sure to ziptie the plugs up away from the ground and it will be fine.
