Well it all comes down to what my mechanic/ friend say about the other car i'm looking at. I love my 240sx to death, but its just not there from an acceleration standpoint. Which is why i'm looking at a MKIII turbo. My car has been an ongoing project, but the engine is completely stock. Some body mods, some new lighting, and a couple parts from a 1993 240sx. I'll let everybody know on whether my car is being sold or not. Deep down I hope there is something seriously wrong with the MKIII so i won't have to get it and I wont want it. By the way, please don't flame on the MKIII even though its a toy... toyo....ah... i can't say it. Peace

Whats wrong with Toyota?
I drive a toyota and I love it (Camry Pride:D ), but seriously Toyota makes good cars. To me Toyota is one step below Nissan. They are nearly the same.
Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Infiniti - Both make or made good cars. They both have one crazy BPU cars, thier luxury divisions kick ass IMO. Both have good old school cars (2000GT and Datsuns, I love em both)
Anyway I am sure everyone already told you what you need to know about making the decision in the last post, but good luck with whatever car you keep or get.

Thanks for the reply. You're my only friend. LOL I think either people aren't going to respond at all or i'm gonna get flamed on hardcore. I would like to reiterate that i love 240sx and i'm a Nissan person myself, but the 240sx isn't fulfilling my needs. I will soon have pics of my 240sx up when the time comes to sell it

Dude, there's no reason anyone should ever be flamed for liking a different car than the 240sx, and if I ever see it happen, I'm gonna do some ass kicking! :D
Anyway, what's your main goal with the car? Do you like the curves or do you like full on power?

I believe there is some sort of head gasket issue, I think its pretty hefty too. That's at least from what i can remember. I'm wondering about the suspension and rear axle as well. But i don't know much about that. O well:rolleyes:

Ya like all MK3s from some year had a head gasket problem, but if you search for an MK3 you'll se a lot that say blown head gasket, or replaced head gasket and such.

Basically I wanted a car that had strait line power, thats why i initially bought a 240 because i saw the torque numbers and thought i could build something off of that, but the funds and S*#@ happend to the car that i had to fix so i never got around to it. I figure even though the supra weighs like 3500 lbs, its got double wishbone suspension so i should be ok. Thanks for the info about the head gasket, i heard mad stuff bout it too. It looks the the 240sx will be for sale soon, email me for details on my baby. peace

make sure you get on supraforums.com. Their MKIII section is awesome. I surf around in there just to learn general performance stuff that isn't talked about very often here.

If you just want straight line power, I'd definately go with the supra.

I think most anyone here will tell you, the 240sx was designed to be a great handling car. If you want to just go fast in a straight line, the supra is a much better choice. While there are plenty of 240's out there that do well in the quarter, the car is much more at home on the road course.
I dunno why you're knocking Toyotas (or thing that we disrespect them here). They're great cars, and Supras are some of the best performing cars around. I was shopping for a mk3 supra when I picked up my first 240.

personally i don't knock toyotas. I just didn't know how possibly going from a 240sx to a MKIII would go over on a 240sx forum. KNow what i'm sayin :D . Anyways, Like i said i hope something is seriously wrong with the Supra so i won't have to get it.... but... i really want it. Thanks to all about being so chill bout the possible switch. 240SX for LIFE!!

My friend just bought a mkiii turbo and it is pretty sweet. The car is pretty upgradeable too. Finding one in decnt condition is very hard. After driving it the handling left me a littile disappointed.

Yo thanks for the encouragement. I drove the car last week, and it's mad quick, spools up nicely.Like u said, the car left me wanting a lil more handling, but it doesnt really feel like 3500 pound car. Anybody looking for a Nice 240sx for a really good price, give me a shout out. I have pictures posted at this address http://community.webshots.com/user/silforty

I have good news and bad news. Bad news is that the Supra needed to much work. Clutch, brakes, timing belt, mounts, and misc carp so i'm not gettin it:( . But the upside is that I'm keepin the 240 for the time being. For all who are still interested in the car.. just keep me informed, maybe i can be swung one way or another. I'm still lookin for something turbocharged. Can anybody say, Z car, or wankel Turbo II. I can.. Thanks for all the comment on my whip. Peace:
