i peeled up a linoleum floor in hopes of refinishing the hardwood underneath, and it's coated in tarpaper. nothing really seems to be able to remove this crap. paint thinner kind of softens it up but there's still residue. even after paint thinner and scraping a 2 foot square section will clog a 40 grit belt sander strip.
what should i use -_-

There's a product at Lowe's called Solu-Strip that works fairly well on adhesives. I'm not sure if it will work for what you've got, but I've used it for the same purpose to get up some adhesive shit that was on the floor. Brush it on liberally, cover with plastic, let sit 10ish minutes, and it scrapes right up.
