On my way to SDSU this morning i encountered a funky problem. While driving my radio suddenly shut off and then my HIDs started to flicker and then eventually shut off. My radio would turn back on a second after but my HIDs would stay turned off. Could this be a bad ground? If so, where should i be looking?

*** My radio has been having a strange whizzing sound as well for the longest time that matches the rhythm of my throttle, when I would push on it the pitch would get higher and would get lower when doing the opposite

- I already have a new battery.
- Could my alternator be the one causing this? My car had been jumped twice with a previous battery going bad

from what it looks like its your alternator, does this happen often? or did it just happen once

Is your battery relocated cause the previous owner of my car did a relocation and did a hack job of it. If i hit a bump my radio would turn off and all my power would dim or shut off as well. My issue was sue to him grounding the battery to a plastic thread and running a ground back to the front of the car. The noise from your radio is a power wire either too close to RCA cables or if you dont have a sub its too close to a signal wire for your speakers. Hope this helps and it wouldnt be a bad idea to get your alternator checked out most places do it for free.
