sounds like it's running on 3 cylinders, so far i've checked:

vacuum lines
intercooler piping
loose bolts around mani/turbo/elbow
grounds
fuel pump seems to work, i can hear it.
spark plugs look normal

here's the weird part: i pulled each injector harness one by one, 1,2,4 all made the engine want to die, 3 did nothing. So i swapped out #3 injector, but it continues to sound like it's running on 3 cylinders.

what's next?

what's the best way to test that? can i pull each coil plug to see if car dies?

do i put each coil next to valve cover to look for spark?

swap #2 and 3 coils, if the problem moves to #2 then you need a new coil.

don't pull the coils out while the car is running. You could short out your ecu.

correct!!!!! turn off the engine, switch them, turn it back on, unplug the injector

swap #2 and 3 coils, if the problem moves to #2 then you need a new coil.

finally got laidoff so that i can concentrate on more important things!!!

i swapped out coils #2 and #3 and no change. something tells me it's the harness or signal from the ecu to injector #3. can i just use a multimeter and see if it's getting current? in all honesty, im not familiar with using a multimeter so can i just experiment with poking things or could i make it worst by shorting something?
