I finnaly SUCCESSFULLY installed my 370cc injectors in my Ka-t. I have a tiny problem that i can live with but i want to solve it. when i start my engine, it will idle up then down and eventually die. Why does it do this? i can gas it a bit and then its ok. but why does this happen in the begginning? i have a safc installed and i mess with it little, problem not solved.

was this after the install of the injector? i have a KA also, not a T. but i know these engines have a history of idleing funny. on the older KA it was a bad connection somewhere, on newer ones i could be just IAC. but if it was after the install of the injectors then maybe get a air flow meter from like autometer and check to see how it runs from the first start. umm i wish i had a KAT or an SR i envy you :D but if none of this helps, sorry i tried :)

Yes this was after the install. but before the install, idleing was fine. This happens only when i start the engine, and the first 10-15 seconds of idleing. it will die. but if i drive down the street and left it to idle, the idleing will be ok.

ONE MORE THING! also when i leave it in neutral or clutch down. If i rev it high to about 4000+ and let off, revs wont stop at idle. itll die. it will either die or bog trying to stay alive. but ofcourse a little tap on the gas helps. but i dont wanna have to do this all the time. i usually have to heal-toe on stoplights.

what do you have to account for the 370 injectors? AFC, JWT?

just an safc and boostdependant fuel reg. no jwt ecu.

Disconnect your battery for an extended amount of time (or unplug your ECM if you'd like to do it more quickly. I'm guessing your ECM's self learning controls are causing it to run as though it has 270cc injectors, thereby running WAY rich. You basically need to reset it so it figures out that it doesn't need to give that much gas. If that fails, lean out your fuel delivery via your SAFC.

what setting are you using on the afc to account for the larger injectors. I had problems getting my car to run right, I settled on like -25% at 1000rpm and that worked pretty good

check out my posts at the end of the cobra mafs/550s thread and you will see that the adjustment should be about 27% not 37% like we were thinking before (thanks DuffMan)

as for the ecu relearning system, is it true that i cant gas it for 10 minutes?
