ok, I really need help on this one as I have a chance to buy an SR20 for REALLY cheap but it doesnt have a MAF, Ignitor chip or intercooler, Dont care about the intercooler, but the others are needed.

If I cant get these for a decent price, is it true that I can use the ignitor chip from a Q45 and the MAF from a skyline? I was told I would need to upgrade the MAF anyways for large amounts of boost.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MAF:

Get a Z32 Maf. Best bang for the buck.

Ignitor chip:

You can get the Q45 or Pulsar DOHC Ignitor chip. I got a Pulsar one and it works fine.

Don't forget to retune or get a S-AFC to get your ecu to "read" properly your new maf.

thank you very much.

Did you buy a new chip or get a used one? What should I expect to pay? When you say pulsar, do you mean the JDM one or ours?

Also if you are not ready/don't want to retune, then a 89-90 mafs is the same thing with a different plug.

89-90 what? S13 or R32? I have a 90 S13, this would be a great thing and one less thing to buy right away.

You've already got a mafs that will work. You good on that. Just some minor rewiring as the plugs don't match. Make sure to keep your 90 KA mafs plug as you'll have to splice it into the sr wiring harness.

As far as ignitor chips go your not gonna find an sr one for less than 200. You could use a q45 one but I personaly don't know how to wire one of those in...yet.

Keep in mind though that unless your getting the motor from a good source your more likley gonna have a lot more problems than just sourcing an ignitor chip.

Find out if it comes will a full wiring harness. If it doesn't drop it. A wiring harness can run into the 500's easy.

I got a used Ignitor chip from a 1988-1989 Pulsar DOHC. I believe the engine is CA18DE? As long as it's a DOHC Engine, the chip is good and it will work properly.

I paid 150CDN with the plugs, which basically it 100USD.

again, thank you guys so much. I think I will just scrap this idea and buy an entire front clip, may cost more but having it all there will make life so much easier.

So far I have found a complete front clip (with panels and lighting) for $3000US including shipping, is this a decent price? Can some1 point me in the right direction if there is a better deal from a reliable source?
