clutch/tranny problem

well im pretty new to cars and i have a question. when i let off my clutch and step on the gas, its as if im still stepping on it. it speeds up, but very slowly and all i hear is my engine revving. it doesnt do this if i keep my rpm around 2, only when i try to go higher. do any of you have an idea what the problem is? any help is greatly appreciated.

edit: oh yeah, its a 95 240sx se

your clutch is slipping. try adjusting the pedal. if that doesnt work then its time for a new clutch buddy

yea if adjusting it doesnt help then your going to be needing a clutch.
