So yeah, this block I got, apparently has a stripped thermostat housing thread. The block side.

Whats the easiest fix? Get a tap and make it bigger and find another bolt? or can I force a coarser thread bolt in there and pray?

Why do I already know which option I should choose?

FUCK THIS KA SWAP FROM HELL!

The block side? Do you mean on the front cover? Drill/tap for larger bolt.

Why are you even asking this shit? You should know the answer.

HELICOIL.

If you don't like helicoil...

tap and larger bolt.

Crossthreading is retarded.

u can tap the hole for a std thread. find one that is equal but little bigger and tap it
then use a new bolt

or drill/tap next size up

or drill/helicoil

I knnnnoowwww. The "new" block came like that and in my first post I said I know what option to use.. I just couldn't do anything about it cuz the hardware store was already closed and I had sand in my vagina. It hurts. Got any cream?

sounds like you already made up your mind, girly man. here is an article that will walk your effeminateness through the helicoil process:

if you grow some balls, force a larger bolt in .

I'm not using a flippin helicoil, ball sack licker!

I already bought the 1/4-20 tap. You guys think thats big enough? up from a 6X1.0? looks like the #7 just clears out the threads of the 6X1.0. (#7 is what I need for the 1/4-20)
