Hi, I bought these new 18 inch rims sportsmax 502. OFfset for a 1990 240sx, but when I drive I can hear rubbing from the left front one, but nothing from the right front one. What do I need to fix this?

well when you look at it the cover that covers the springs/strut/shocks sits right on top of the tire. Whats a bfs ? Oh and the car has a silvia s15 conversion, if that is any help. I bought some ichiba spacer 5mm hoopefully they work, but don't know...yet. The car is not even dropped yet either.

Did you roll your fender? cause it might be rubbing your fender or harness. If it's the harness, then just relocate it :)

Bfh is big fucking hammer. Hammer in the inside of your fenders. And you can't say offest for a 240sx and expect us to know what that is.

ok the offset is:

front: 18x8.5
rear: 18x9.5

offset: +35mm

I rechecked the wheels again I notice my shocks are dead, one of them is sitting on the wheel(the right side one), but the one on the other side has like a half inch space between the wheel and the strut cover thing. No I did not roll my fenders, and why does after putting on these new rims my car shake so damn much when driving. Is it normal? Do I need to balance the wheels at a tire shop?

That is not an offset for a 240.:goyou:

im thinking you need some spacers if you want to keep those wheels man. with offsets that high with that kind of width it doesnt surprise me that you are haing rubbing issues. i had some 18x8 +35's that would rub at near full lock. either beat out the inside of your fenders or put on some spacers. right now i have some 8.5 spaced to +10 and i have no rubbing issues at all. id say throw at a 10mm spacer on the rear and at least a 15 to 20mm spacer on the front

one quick question are the two struts in the front the same length or are they both different size?
I took the wheel out and notice marks on the strut like the wheel was rubbing against it.

Maybe an Altima or a Sentra, but not a 240.

the wheel IS rubbing against it. im telling you if you want to fix your problem and keep those wheels you need to space them out. an 18x8.5 +35 has way too high of an offset to just bolt on and drive. space them out and you will be fine.

also, it may only be rubbing on one wheel because the knuckles arent bolted in at the same camber angle to the coilovers. its kinda hard to explain online but if you loosen both of the bolts on your coilover that bolt to the knuckle you should be able to rock the wheel back and forth changing the camber angle thus moving the upper inside portion of the wheel closer or further away from the coilover. im not saying go out and do this because you will probably fuck up your alignment, but you may wanna have it checked out.

did you put the coilovers on yourself? and if it was you did you have an alignment done? if it was someone else do you know if they had the car aligned properly?
