hookin up a greddy turbo timer. i have the ignition harness, so thats done.
now i need to hook it up to the speed signal wire. i found the speed sensor on the tranny.
I have two wires out of the sensor.

and
-RED w/yellow stripe.
which one is the signal wire???

red is usually just constant power. id bet red/yellow. you can also look in the FSM!

you don't have to hook that up for the turbo timer to work, if you already knew this disregard.

Ok. I hooked up the harness but the car won't start. Why?

i checked out the harness that i bought. the ignition harness on the car has six wires. the greddy harness only has 4 prongs. they plug in, but its like there's two missing prongs.
i think thats why. ill ask someone local with a harness to see if i happened to get the wrong one.

That's a JDM ignition harness. The plug in harnesses they sell are not made for US cars, we have an extra wire in the switch harness.
The VSS signal wire is yellow/green, found behind the cluster or at the ECU. Same as nearly all Nissans.

cool. so do i just plug in the harness, then wire the remaining two back together?

Yes, or don't even use the harness and just splice in what you need.
