The wires on my intake temp sensor broke, on a 95. Looked up the cost and it's about $66. I was comparison shopping and one particular website didn't have the category "Air Intake", usually under "Engine", it was under "Powertrain Controls" for the same price, so I'm sure it was the same part.

but for shits I pulled the parts for a 98, wasn't under "Engine" either. did a search and found it under "Powertrain Controls", but it was for $30.

can I use the cheaper one? what are the differences? I couldn't see the part numbers so I don't know for sure if they are the same or not. but they're both listed in the parts catalog as "Air Intake Temp Sensor".

The sensor is different for 97-98 models but the plug is the same. The newer model plugs into a rubber grommet on the intake tube before the airbox. I've never tried it but I'm sure it would work. Question is, why do you need it? The only gain from installing it to cancel the CEL, you can do that with an inline resistor.
