Is anyone from Indianapolis, and if so would you like to try to organize a get together. The closest one I have found is the guys getting people together in Chicago.

I'm from Indy but I don't live there right now becuase of school. I'll be game for a meet when the weather get nicer..maybe March or April. I know there are only a handful of guys on here from Indy so that makes it kind of hard to get a large, or even moderate sized meet.

I don't want to do anything until it gets wormer (I'm from a warmer place, and right now I feel like hibernating). Where do you go to school, I go to iupui and it is kind of lame. In Virginia there were a lot of party schools, and I'm looking for a place to go hang. If I could at least get everyone from around here together for a cruise or something it would be great (indy is boring to me so far)

A few of us from MI (well ok, 2) attended the last Chicago meet, and I'm sure that we'd do an Indy one, considering its closer to us. And I know there is more than 2 MI members in this forum.

Any one else interested. This thing won't be worth doing unless we get more people together. How about the Chicago guys, you aren't far away?

Last season there was an autox at the Tire Rack test track in South Bend. If there's one again this year, it would make a sweet ass meet!

The 1990 Stanza was what got me hooked on Nissan in the first place, learned to drive with that car, and it was FUN.

'90 Stanza XE 5 speed (and it was LOTS better than our current 97.5 Altima GXE)

Lookin' forward to a meet!!

Well the Speedway is having a deal that you can take your car on the F1 road course for some $$$. You guys should plan a event around that.

"Yah, I take the same apex lines as Montoya"

Awww that would be freaking sweet. Do you have any info on this? I'm sure the cost will be obscene but it's worth taking a look into.

The bragging rights alone are worth it. .

get info on irp and let's do it, if we can't do the f1, they are getting ready to start running street cars again, I think it's on tuesday and doesn't cost that much. We could roll up with a bunch of 240's. The f1 thing would be better though. let me know. I have five acres where we could meet to roll out there if we need a place

Count me in for a meet and possible track time.
Fort Wayne to Indy is a fairly short drive.

I'm still up for a meet. Irp is $10 to get in on tuesday by the way. I'll be running whopping 16.5's :o .

If this thing is going to happen, a couple of us need to get together and plan it out, and divey up the tasks to get it together. Is anyone in Indy or close by that would like to meet up sometime to discuss this thing. The forum works, but it is slow, Kris

Fans can drive the United States Grand Prix Road Course in June

IMS Organizes Formula 1 Open House and Drive Around on Father’s Day

By Eric Powell
usgpindy.com

You can be Michael Schumacher for a day!

For the second year in a row, fans who have purchased four or more tickets to the 2003 United States Grand Prix by Sunday, June 15, will have the opportunity to drive their own car around the 2.606-mile road course of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from noon to 4 p.m. (EST).

The unique opportunity to drive around the Speedway’s road course is part of a full day of activities being planned by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Several local and national car clubs are expected to participate in the drive-around, taking a track lap between 10:30 a.m. and noon. During the public drive around period, exotic cars such as Ferraris, BMWs, Porsches, Corvettes, Jaguars, Audis and Dodge Vipers will be on display near the Pagoda Plaza for fans to view, weather permitting.

Fans will have two opportunities to purchase photos commemorating the day. A photo of their car will be taken between Turns 8 and 9 of the road course, and United States Grand Prix grid girls will pose for photos with fans near the Speedway’s famous Victory Podium. Refreshments and Indianapolis Motor Speedway official merchandise will be available in the Plaza.

The Formula One Canadian Grand Prix will be broadcast live from Montreal on the massive video board in the Pagoda Plaza, and a 2001 Ferrari Formula One car – driven by five-time world champion Michael Schumacher – will be on display.

Fans that are eligible to participate in the drive-around will be contacted by IMS.

If a prospective customer does not possess four or more tickets for the USGP and is interested in purchasing tickets and taking a track lap, the Speedway’s ticket office – located in the IMS Administration Building at the intersection of 16th St., Georgetown Road and Crawfordsville Road – will be open that day.

Tickets and parking can be purchased online in advance via www.imstix.com, by calling the ticket office at (317) 492-6700 locally, (800) 822-INDY outside the Indianapolis metropolitan area or by visiting the IMS ticket office in person.

The fourth running of the United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis, part of the 2003 Formula One World Championship, is scheduled for Sept. 26-28.
