Hey you already know my situation (I guess that's what I'll call my lack of a 240 :D ), I am sure we ill have plenty of meets in the area. Last meet we had had like 8 or so people, 2 of em are gone (CAMPPAIN army, S13Grl kidnapped by the owner of this site :D ) But most of these college nuts better be able to come out an play.
Once the weather gets better, we'll organicze something.

I'm from Indianapolis, but Chicago is close enough for me to drive to if you can get enough cars together to make worth the trip. I have a 1990 240 with body mods, and I am currently building a ka to put in it, but it is hard to tell when it will be done because I just can't seem to find a stopping point.

gotcha:)
Here is a somewhat copy I made at www.my350z.com, www.maxima.org, and www.freshalloy.com
Please come and join Nissan enthusiasts like you, to the Chicago's Autoshow on the 15th of Feb. But first we need to find a place and time to meet at. But so far I have suggested that we should meet somewhere in Chicago around 12-3ish. But I did suggest to meet at North Ave. Beach off of Lake Shore Drive, but i was thinking that it might be to cold to meet at a place like this at this time of the year, plus it could be closed....so any other suggestions? I hope there will be more than just three people going. Make this the first Chicago Nissan Winter Meet of the Year. Just imagine you a regular driver on your way to the Autoshow on Lake Shore, then all of a sudden a line of Nissan's wizzes by you, that would be pretty cool to see something like that.

I will try to keep you guys updated if any changes are made, so far we might be meeting up in Chinatown. But most of the changes will be in www.maxima.org in the regional forums or www.my350z.com which is also in the regional forums. In case you are familar with www.thedriven.org, I will be emailing him sometime tomarrow to post the Nissan Chicago Autoshow on 2/15/03
Please email me if you are planning on coming since i have 3 (possibly 4 when I notify the people at altimas.net.) other forums to check for anychanges. Please have the subject as "Nissan Chicago Auto Show Meet." And have your handle name so I can get a headcount. I know its cold out, so I don't expect this to be a big turnout.

A nissan meet at the auto show actually sounds like not a bad idea. If some of the other 240 people were going i would go.

I'm in chicago, right around Clark and Foster on the North side.
I can probably make the auto show, but I will be without my 240 since it's up in my parents garage in Madison. I do however have my gf's stock nissan altima for you all to drool over:D

Alright guys, people that are interested on going to the autoshow we have decided to meet at 1:00pm, but the meeting place is not fully decided yet, cuz me and a member from altimas.net (russman) are going to look for a better place just in case the place in red that is shown below is not so good of a place to meet. I will keep you guys updated when changes occur or when the final decision has been made.

where is the all-nissan meet. If it's in Chicago, i've been told it's only like three or four hours, not seven? Either way my car will make it. I used to live in VA, and the car has made five eleven hour trips (each way), and it seems to run better after each one.

I could drive to chigago if it's not too cold. I hate cold weather, I'm from a warmer place. The meet will be happening around my birthday, so any potential plans (besides cold weather) would be the only reason I wouldn't come. Are you all planning anything during the warmer months of the year? If so let me know.

The main attraction to this nissan meet is the autoshow, I have no idea how long they plan on just hanging around, but your not gonna get any 240 action. 240 2NR isn't bringing his car, and if I come I have no 240, not sure who Ghs Warrior is, but he might have a 240.
So if you wanted to come to the autoshow I would reccomend this, but if you dont care for the autoshow, its up to you if you wanna hang out with some people. There will be plenty of Nissan/240 meets.
There is usually a monthly Nissan meet, prolly starting in march/april, then there is always one big Nissan meet with raffles and ****. Then there will be 240 meets that randomly pop out of nowhere, so just watch this section of the forum when you can walk out w/ just a sweater, and no snow.

Ill come, along with my friends =]. My friends will bring their nissan cars also, a 99 GLE Max, and a 94 Sentra, both avid tuners =]. Lemme know when, and where, and we'll be there.
Hm... i post on both zilvia.net and maxima.org so which spot do i fall under? lol
jsr20det, the date and time we are meeting for the Chicago Autoshow is on 2/15/03 at 1pm, but the problem is that we haven't figured out the best place to meet up first before we head out to the show.
If anyone has suggestions please reply, but preferably close to McCormick. That can hold a decent size of cars. Im getting kinda nutty when we get closer to the date of the autoshow especially when we don't have a final place to meet up hehe. If worst comes to worst, I might just have us all meet at the 31st St. parking lot, second exit for McCormick when going down south on Lakeshore Dr.
Date 2/15/03
Time: 1:00 PM
Place to meet up at: ???????
Time to head out to autoshow: 2:00 PM
Alright people, hopefully this will be the last suggestion for a meeting place. Two of this parking lots are big. Unfortunantly this parking lot won't have its nice view of the lake but a nice view of a White Castle, Burger King and a Dominicks. Me and russman had a long convo figuring out which place is best.
Alright since I can't post a pic larger than 50kb, the first location me and russman decided on is 3145 S. Ashland Ave. in the Dominicks parkinglot. Which is about 4 ot 5 miles away, but has fastfood restaurants near by so we can hang out inside while we wait for others. Another location I just noticed is on Canal which it too is also a Dominicks parkinglot, 1340 Canal St. Which is about 1 to 3 miles away from McCormick, but as far as I know no restaurants to hang out in to wait for others.
Please if anyone that has a better suggestion for a parking lot that is about large enough for a group of 20+ cars, please reply. Cuz I know some of you don't wanna just meet at McCormick, some of you wanna race to McCormick. hehe.
I will edit this post once cardomain is up and running again.

Also weekends in the afternoon are the friggin' worst time to go to the autoshow. It will take you 4 hours to cover the place and you can't sit in each car that long and good luck trying to take pictures with all the crowds. It's pretty bad......
The shows open until 10p.m.- here's the trick- you arrive at 7:30-8p.m. and I guarantee you have no crowds to deal with - can sit in every car- take pictures all you want- and it takes exactly 2 hours to cover the place going at a slow pace.
It's like going to great america on a hot saturday in July- fogedda aboud it! But if you go to great america in the summer on a cloudy/light rainy day- no one is there- and the ride operators will let you stay on the coaster run after run -as long as no one is in line- good times!
Back to the show- going later works on weekdays or weekends- go late= have a great time.
This is very true, I went three times last year, first time was at like 5ish, dind't get to see much, good thign the camera had no batteries. Then due to no camera we went a different day about same time, it was still busy, then final time went at like 8 and this time there was not that many people, so got to look at all the cars. It really sucks when there are a lot of people crowding the cars.
This year I am going the 14th, anyone know how busy it will be on monday the 17th cuz I am going then too, prolly during the day.
Won't be able to come with you guys, the dates are too close together for me.
Alright guys, we have finallized a place to meet up for the Chicago Autoshow meet. The last day of for the headcount will be Friday night.
