red top head on s14 black top

I just want to be on the safe side before I make the purchase. I have a red top with a rod hanging out of it, and found a s14 black top bottom end for sale, will everything match up?

yes its the same bottom end the only difference is the oil pump and water pump.

How the hell did you throw a rod in an SR??? This is the first time Ive heard of such a thing.

I've heard tons that spun bearings but rare to my knowledge of acutally throwing a rod through the block

Cool thanks alot. I'll take pictures of the rod hanging out when I pull the motor. It's my friends car, what happend was he never changed his oil, it was knocking but he thought it was his fan rubbing the fan shroud. I guess he was just to lazy to look into it.
