just wondering what you guys think is the best way to break in a freshly built engine. the break it in like youre gonna drive it method? or drive it easy for 500 or so miles to break it in.

Don't boost for 1000 miles.... Run it easy but dont baby it...

Keep it below about 4-4500 RPM's.

Let the RPM's wind them selves down, so the rings seat nice and don't mush everything around..

Breaking in engines is for pussies. Beat the hell out of it, redline every gear, boost it like crazy, run it without oil, etc. Beat that beast into submission out of the box to show it who's box. Tough love.




...seriously though, search... just be easy on it. Best way to break in your engine is have your grandmother drive it for the first couple thousand.
