Hello All,

I've had this car for a little over a year now, and during the period that I've owned it, i've attempted to sell it once, but than when the buyer came through...I couldn't get myself to do it. So now I've set my mind to keep the car and build it. I recently sold my Z33 (350z) and S13, but for some reason I couldn't let go of the S14. I <3 her lol! Back to the topic at hand, as mentioned, I've decided to mod it, and would like to share my build with you, so here it is. Feel free to chime in and give your opinion, whether I agree or not, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and hopefully this will be a friendly thread. I am open to constructive criticism, so please be my guest as long as it is CONSTRUCTIVE! Thanks, enjoy, and now on to the pics!!!

Here are the specs:
Year: 1998
Model: 240sx SE
Mileage: 9X,XXX
Title: Clean

This is the condition she was in when I first bought her over a year ago. Low miles, 9X,XXX, and completely stock, minus the radio, and had a pretty big dent on the trunk.

Upon Getting her, I swapped out the S14 SE rims for my 350z wheels, put the Apexi Dual N1 Exhaust, swapped the kouki tails for the LED ones, swapped out the trunk for a trunk without a dent, and put 6k HID's in.

I than took out the ugly aftermarket radio and placed an Eclipse Navigation unit.

Apparently I also put in a dildo shift knob, and a SUN Auto Mini Hyper voltage System.

I then put in a Cusco Front Strut Tower Bar, Nismo Rear Strut Tower bar, Apexi Intake, and a Nismo Radiator Cap.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention I also recently swapped out the brakes for OE Brembo Rotors, and Hawk brake pads all the way around, and put a JDM Squash Air Freshener and JDM Broadway mirror! LOL! Hey you can't forget the mad JDM TYTE accessories! :snoop:

In all honesty, I'm not rich, I was just fortunate enough to acquire the right sponsors at the right time. Thanks for the compliments! I was thinking of doing an all OEM kouki, but than I talked with Dat over at Vertex, and I'm thinking of doing the Vertex ridge widebody. It's up in the air, but we'll see.

I know Lisa, we did alot of work together when I use to work in the industry, but now that I've been trying to get out, I haven't really kept in contact. I don't think I've ever met her sister. Those pics are of the good ol days when the industry was doing well, and most of the shady people were arrested, or were in the making lol. Now the industry is all jacked up.

Well for project cars...yes. My daily is a 2005 Honda Accord, and a 2009 Infiniti FX. In all honesty the Z was way too modified to even drive for pleasure without risk of damaging the car or getting a fat ticket. It was also a very expensive car to maintain. Now that I don't really have a job, and I'm trying to go to Law School, I have to save as much money as I can which meant selling the Z and S13 to take care of me during this period. Not to mention I was suppose to get married soon (main reason for selling both cars), but with the economic crisis at hand, I might just hold off till after Law School.

The Lambo doors were free from Vertical Doors including installation and I actually happened to like the Widebody, contrary to other peoples viewpoints. Plus the sponsorship from Veilside helped me make my decision, but thanks for the input, and please don't punch babies lol! I don't own the car so you can go punch the car instead! J/K A good friend of mine owns it now so don't punch it either. :wan:

seeing your prior work, this should be a good project

Thanks for the kind words and not so kind words. It isn't quite a build thread yet because I just started, and would like to share and document the progress, but thanks for the patience anyways.

In all honesty, I'm going to build the car the way I like it whether you guys like it or not, but I appreciate the input, and for those who don't understand the word CONSTRUCTIVE, please at least try to logically explain yourself so that I may understand your perspective, rather than just being plain rude. Other than that, thanks guys and I'll update more as I go on.

Hopefully I can make this build go as far as my 350z had taken me, but i'm not so sure about that due to my hectic academic schedule.

Props to you for getting the gorgeous Lisa Fleming to pose with your car. There are woman out there that are just ridiculously pretty and she is one of them.

I like the 350z in its earlier stages. I have never been a fan of veilside kits.

And do your s14 right. Don't cheap out like a lot of 240 owners. Buy quality parts and keep it clean.

Thanks! Yeah, alot of people have told me that the earlier stages of the Z were better and I agree. For me it was just getting too played out, so I wanted to go widebody and change things up. I'm only hoping to put quality parts on the car and do the s14 right, hence the handle. Thanks again for the kind words! BTW, Lisa is as nice as she looks, i'll post more pics I have of her with the car when I can find them.

As for a quick update, just got 2 Bride Brix II seats in, and 2 Bride Seat Rails. I know the Box says Ergo II, but its a Brix II, I guess they mixed them up.

Also finished installing the Defi HUD, and Defi Link Control Unit. Only the Tach and power is wired for now. I will finish the rest once I swap the motor (God knows when).

LOL I guess I should have figured that if I post a picture of a girl we would go off tangent, but its cool. Thanks again everyone for the compliments and semi-compliments.

Too tell you in all honesty, I completely forgot, but as always, I made sure my bodywork was done first, so that the wheels would fit flush with the way the body fit. Jim from AKH did all of the measurements. I really wish I could remember but that was a long time ago, and I went through 5 sets of rims during that period...so sorry.

Here is some more updates:
Got my suspension in, Tanabe Pro Seven Coilovers. I've done alot of researching to figure out which suspension I wanted to go with. I was stuck between the Seven's, KW's, and the DG-5's, but after reading a few reviews, listening to personal experiences, and getting an awesome deal, I pulled the trigger on the Sevens.

Sold the Z initially to get married, but now with the way the economy is, I think holding off would be the best thing to do. Also, maintenance was expensive and it was too modified to drive on a daily basis or without fear of getting pulled over or damaged.

Upon finishing the lsat exam and getting another job, I plan to swap the motor to an s14 SR and go on from there. As for building the motor, i'm not quite sure, but I don't want anything too extreme. Just something fast, reliable, and daily drive-able.

Thanks! Yeah thats true, but I don't drive it everyday, I have an FX and an Accord that I drive daily so it'll only be for cruising or track events, but I would like to build it to where it is daily driveable. Plus I don't drive fast on the streets or disobey traffic laws, and some of my friends in the area are cops so I'm hoping it should be okay.

Nope, never even met the guy. We live on opposite sides of the Country. I sold him a subframe one time a few years ago, does that count? Personally I don't like the Kouki frontend on any 240SX so I'm not jumping into bed with either of you, I'm just saying you're the one throwing mud when you were the one driving the pile of shit. I'd rather have the mud personally, it washes off and doesn't smell as bad. Not saying your 240 will be of the same caliber, who knows, you may have grown up a little since the Z and realized that driving a car that looks like a 5yr old's fantasy drawings isn't always cool. It's ok, I'm sure you got a lot of underage boy ass while owning it, but it's time to move on to more adult things now.

And my car is fitted with only OEM aero parts. JDM or not, your shit looked like ass. And when did Lambo doors become JDM?

Thank you and I'm hoping we can now get back on topic.

I apologize for going way off topic, but like they themselves mentioned, its the internet, its inevitable. I'm hoping to put on the suspension soon, so I can go to some of the local meets and meet some of the other local members on this forum. Hopefully their more mature than some of the members I've encountered here. My car really needs the suspension and the drop so hopefully soon. I'll post pics after I install it and adjust the height to my liking.

I think everyone needs to get over the whole post counts and join dates. Thats why I started this thread, although I am new, and I have less post counts than most, I wanted to introduce myself and my project so that zilvia members can get to know me better. If I can accomplish that, than I wouldn't need people to know me by my post counts or join date, but more so simply by me enjoying the same car. Thats the purpose of this forum...no? Not post counts or join dates, but a collaborative society that shares a similar hobby.

The major fail of this thread, besides the "criticism," is the fact that this isn't really a build thread. It's more of a "look I bought a car and i'm going to mod it" thread.

I suggest that the OP get this thread locked/deleted and post a new thread once there has been significant progress. Looking at his prior car, this car should have some pretty neat parts. But right now it's far from being a "build."

i dont even think its that, by the looks of the title it seems like its more of a "look i bought a car and im going to give it to a shop to build for me and call it my own build!" thread

I posted the pics of my Z just to show some of my own personality go into my own cars! Thats it! But obviously we have a bunch of egotistical haters on this forum who have to give their opinion than blame the OP for trying to "show off his car." First off, that was not the intention, and obviously you must have feelings of jealousy if you thought that. Otherwise why would you even care? Second, if you haven't noticed I'm studying for the LSAT so I haven't been able to completely start the build, only doing what I can on my free time, so sorry if there aren't any cool pics of the build yet because i've been dealing with the trolls. Third, I'm not here to show off my car, it was to introduce myself, a project i've done in the past, and a project i've just started which happened to be the chasis for this site.

Really, you guys can't just welcome a member, give some constructive advice, network, and maybe meet a fellow enthusiasts? I have been in the industry for awhile and have an extensive network, and would have loved to help out the fellow members in this site as much as I could, but now I really don't want to. You guys all have your heads so far up your ass, you couldn't just be friendly when I took the first couple comments or attacks as optimistically as I could, yet you guys insisted on attacking me rather than seeing that I'm not here to show off but just wanted to share a common interest.

SilviaDoctrine - Zilvia (or the internet as a whole) is not a Utopia...so you will get some negativity and/or the unexpected. Can you give an example of constructive criticism in regards to your old Z? I can't see how others can comment on it and not be misinterpreted one way or another. It's fine as a show car, but its a hot mess if it was a DD (IMO). If you're making the S14 as a show car, then I have a decent idea on how it will turn out (based on the Z).

I wish you good luck with whatever you do with the S14.....

as for kits and other upgrades, i would probably go with Origin, Ings, or some Sexy Style.

i dont personally like the kouki front much. but hey its your car. make sure you got some nice wheels. to get a good idea you should check out the wheel fitment thread.

GL with the build post up another thread for it.

and ps Zilvia is a great community. I believe if you have an S chassi this is the place you should def live in.
