3 easy steps....
1. Gently pull from the bottom up on the A/C panel.
2. Lift up on shifter console panel
3. Remove 4 screws to remove the center section where the radio is.

Another small tip..
don't remove the panel directly around the head unit/din pockets/whatever you have there (the one with the ash tray in it). It is bolted in with 4 screws from the inside, so don't force it thinking it will just snap off like I did and ending up breaking it. Just remove the four bolts that hold the metal stereo bracket (?) and take out the entire assembly with that panel attached.
Also, it helps to take out the panel around the shift boot to get to the two lower bolts. It just snaps out with some force.
Hope this helps some, if you havent already done it.

Hey, actually if I remeber correctly, there are 5 screws. 2 on top behind the AC trim, 2 on the bottom blocked by the shifter trim, and one behind the ash tray.
Oh, and be very careful pulling out the trim. It has a tendency to crack at the screw posts. I'll bet a good portion of the people on the board here w/ s14's can testify to this. I know I can.
