why buy a clutch that fits, when you can halfass weld one to fit.

i was expecting worse shit.. lol
what kind of cars are they tuning, ford fiestas? im not gonna register to see that spanish forum so all i see are the pics that people post on that other forum.. is this "tuner" a single guy doing this to his car, or hes modding shop cars ??
people do same shit here.. slam the fuck out of their cars, weld their diff.. etc etc.. just as ghetto =p
Surprisingly, first thing blown was turbo, i was expecting a rod out since they didnt even plastigauge the bearings.

Dude that thread was so inspiring... I think I might make my M50 rev to 10k and put down 900whp. all I need is a file, large sanding stone, lot's of paint and an ebay account...
its fool proof.

you know the sad part is if you go to a south american country a lot of cars will be fixed like that custom clutch (if you cant find one that fits make your own) and these ppl make things work like that. i dont know for how long, or how safe, but somehow they work. I know I am from Peru and lived there 11 years
Daniel.

i would make a scatter shield. if the clutch is frankensteined then they probably shaved down the stock flywheel too.
the engine is a grenade..the clutch flywheel prob is too.

Now to step in and defend him for a moment.
The diamond shape slots are called Singh Grooves. They're cut to decrease the burn time of the charge and promote a better burn with less detonation. It's been used in racing for years on and off. Some people say it's effective.. some don't.
Here's a thread about them, their effectiveness
Singh Groove testing redux and CFD for groove positioning. - Speed Talk (http://speedtalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5907)
as for the clutch. Goto a local place that R&R's clutchs. The whole things are riveted together. It's nothing abnormal to grind off a surface and put a new center hub on a different friction disc.
The dimples in the head are for turbulence creation. Most of these are 80's theorys. Some people still use them today. Metric Mechanic of BMW definitly. I've seen some far out shit from them.
As to whether this makes HP or not or all the paint that's applied to his car.. yeah it's crazy...

Those are a clear sign of detonation. The old pistons had corrisponding "dimples" on them. It means the engine was a POS.
As far as the clutch thing goes... Thats just plain unsafe no matter how you look at it. Clutches are supposed to be balanced, seeing as how they will spin at 7000 rpm, especially in a riced out car like that, where the rev limiter will be hit often. As soon as you do something like that to a clutch, its not balanced. You'd be amazed at how much .1 oz affects something at 7000 rpm.
The entire car is a hack job. Cutting corners, not being safe... You know who else cut corners and skimped on saftey? The Russians... And look what happened..

Yeah but they way he did it he made some nice detonation promoters with those hard edges. The Pistons are pocked with detonation.
Head is warped badly. Look how only the center is ground down and the edges of the head are still coked. WTB Hot Tank.

Since the car ran and made 384 hp, I can completely see stupid people using this thread as a guide to get "cheap" hp. And now its on Zilvia, I already sense a KA blowing up

I hate to bring this thread back but this thing is an abomination. It goes agains everything and anything I have ever learned about building motors and that thing runs..., like wtf, it almost makes me feel all the hours Ive spent plastigauging crank bearings are a waste except both of the motors Ive built are still running pretty strong.
WTF are some people thinking, being spanish I am ashamed to be associated with this type of people, its just plain ignorant.
Honestly, it actually fucking moves, its fucking unbelievable, I cant believe I am so mad about this.

He needs some guidance for sure. but to say he is a idiot is not true. Just confused
