What could it be? I say piston rings. If I run my car engine high in to my rpm an boost my catch can gets completly filled with oil. I have really low (pretty much 0 compression in cylinder 1 oil all over the spark plug. Could I get that much oil past the rings running my engine like that or is it a cracked piston.. I just want to get outside input because in going to order a head gasket piston rings and my leaky valve cover gasket and I want to make sure rings are what I need, I only have the money to get the right shit the 1st time.

with 0 compression, your looking at horrible engine damage. A new piston wont fix it, if the piston is broken. We're talking total engine rebuild, with bored over piston walls, new bearings, all that good stuff. My advice, dont run the engine.

But if its NEAR 0 compression, you might have a fucked up valve guide, causing oil from your head to seep into your cylinder. I've never seen piston rings so bad that is causes near 0 compression. What is near 0? 20, 40, 50? Do a leak down test. that'll pinpoint where your losing compression.

well the checker showed some compression and it went up when i poured oil in the cylinder but not much? it doesnt stumble and it idels fine? its just in the 1st cylinder.

Leak Down Test VFAQ (http://www.geocities.com/dsmgrrrl/FAQs/leakdown.htm)

this should help.

oh ya and if i stay in low boost i dont really get blow by oil in my catch can.

On a Redtop? If you remove the black can between the crankcase and the VC, the catch will increase in oil. I run about 16psi on my 2871R and I have to clear out the can about every oil change. I have a little oil, but not that much in my cylinder #1. Like a smidget or so...

lol ya but mine fill in one session of heavy throttle from 0- to what ever taking it to 4th gear then pull over and its full.. i get white smoke out the tail pipe during heavy throttle too. .

I think it happened when, b4 I installed my catch can the outline form the t- fitting was routed to the turbo intake. Now from drifting and higher boost 12psi. I think the oil from the blow by originally got past my turbine into my inter cooler piping then into my throttle body and lastly into my 1st cylinder now fluid can only be compressed to a point b4 something has to give, that’s why im thinking it fucked my piston rings but I wanted a second opinion

LEAKDOWN TEST!!!

There are 3 things it can be:

Fucked intake valve
fucked exhaust valve
Fucked rings

if its that bad, with low compression, avoid going balls to the wall when you drive. Take it easy until you can get it leakdown tested. I put up a link up there, its easy to do, and it really narrows down the problem.

what would be the average price on a leak down test .. i dont have acsess to that type of gauge.

Wow one pull ok.... That sucks.... Hmmm what you saying how it blows by into cylinder #1 is impossible, because of the sheer distance. I mean literally you would need to almost fill the bottom portion of the intercooler to blow it past your throttle body into #1. That is a BIG stretch to say that.... I attribute it to tuning or injectors. Have you checked your plugs and injectors?
