Ill probably get flamed 4 this but had to get it off my chest

lately it seems that mods have been cracking down on "commercial sales"
but it also seems that this has been more directed towards the lil guys who are basically renting their time and knowledge or experience to help others out

others that are purely mass producing something or providing services through a shop they happen to work at seem to be bypassing and slipping through the cracks

to me a commercial sale is when goods or services through a private company are being advertised in order to get customers

I dont think that a mechanic that is offering to swing by someones house to lend a hand for a lil gas money is very "commercial"

some people are just trying to basically hustle so that they can save up for their 1st set of coilovers or that JDM tight wing

other fourms have a section specifically for Commercial sales only and other thread for private services:naughty: no pun intended lol

idk just a thought
trying to see what others think
so maybe we can get some new guidelines

To tell you the truth coming from someone who enforced this like no other on a very large regional forum, it's all or nothing.

Sponsors invest in a site, they keep the lights on and in return they get to advertise. Why bother to pay to advertise on a site when others are allowed to do it for free? I wouldn't pay a dime to run a banner on this site if I wasn't confident my investment would be protected.

When i say all or nothing here is what I mean. If the mods start letting Jr. advertise that he can do swaps for x dollars, what next? Maybe now Johhny down the block can get you this or that for x dollars. Next thing you know, some employee doing side jobs at a shop is advertising? None of these people are commercial per se but they are performing sales or service for a profit.

If the first is ok, why not the last?

If that new mod in the classifieds is cracking down on that sort of thing then he is taking his job seriously, as much as it can suck.

This BTW was the biggest pain the ass I ever had as a mod. Well ok 2nd biggest.

well im not necessarily saying allow every1 to run banners u can tell who's legit trying to make a lil spare change and who is just out to compete and make the most money and like you said yourself, most of these people are not advertising a commercial business just that they have no-how and are willing to help for a few bucks(like i said to cover gas)
