View Full Version : Breakin up cutting out at 3k

i have a s14 vvt motor at full throttle wont rev past 3k 3.5k just breaks up and bogs down i can ease through the rpms no prob all the way through. ive been told the maf could be the problem i just need a little more expertise on the issue since im new to tuning turbo cars so if anyone has any thoughts on this issue or maybe its a setting problem with the ecu and the maf and the afc not communicating right i know its electrical just dont know where to start any help would be appreciated thanks

Could be a bad MAF or screwed up wiring.

i think somethings not set right i know the guy i got it off had the same prob with the maf and fixed it for a little and it started again so i think its a setting issue with the safc but im not too familiar with this stuff so im learning as i go but thanks for the help

i played with the safc2 settings and turned the throttle signal setting off and the car runs great doesnt break up and runs like it should but when i turn the throttle signal setting back on it breaks up at three and runs like shit its set in the up position so it reads throttle sensor voltage completely closed is 0v to 1v and completely open is 3v to 5v im new to this and if this helps anyone that can help me with the problem id appreciate it thanks.

Whats the IN/OUT setting set at? Make sure its the same number for both...doesnt really matter what, as long as theyre the same. 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, etc... Start with that. If that dont work, see if you can find a SAFC manual and read up on the setup guide. Might have a setting that got screwed up in there other than the IN/OUT setting.

i have the guide just trying to interpret everything in it lol got into those settings and its got hot wire, flap,pressure and karman and all are the same except hot wire which is 2 and 6

the hot wire is 2 and 6 and that seems to be the best bet if i change it everything goes to shit at that setting it runs good still trying to set it to not bog down to almost stall and sometimes does stall coming off the throttle but cant seem to get it right been playing with the dec air settings but nothing has fixed it yet??
