Is the only way to get a Cold Air intake for an SR to have a Z32 MAF?
I'm looking on Phase2 & FRsport and all I see are cold air intakes for the Z32 maf.
Thanks in advance

There are filters, I know they make them.
but.. Almost everyone upgrades their MAFs.
So not much reason to keep the stock SR maf filter in stock.

Nice thread jack.
You wired it up wrong or the maf is bad.
leaning a lot more towards the wired up wrong.

Umm...what good is a cold air intake for a turbo car??? Itll be hot when it gets to the turbo. If youre worried about getting cooler air into the engine, umm...thats what intercoolers are for folks...stop thinking like your driving your D15 equipped Honda Civic.

True. I was under the impression that the Z32 maf was only necessary once the car was pushing 270HP

I do plan on getting an intercooler, around the same time I get the CAI, but what do you think? Screw the CAI and just get a huge ass intercooler? I'm just learning cars so as much feedback as you can give would be great.

the z32 will leave room for improvements in the future. I would go with it for now!?

If you want an intake just get an adapter for a SOHC ka IIRC and a generic filter for like $15 at pep boys. That's what I did a few years back when my stock SR filter was FILTHY dirty.

Your probably running lean not really sure. You gotta get a safc tune, or a wideband and tune it yourself. And it might be wired wrong, make sure to ground it right to the chassis not to another ground. Also you gotta make sure the voltages are right or otherwise you overload your ECU and it goes into a kind of safe mode. And to the OP get the z32 MAF it sets up the motor the right way for any other mods you might wanna do in the future.

If youre gonna spend money on something for the intake, get a custom pipe for the intake and Z-maf. Get rid of the shitty, restrictive rubber neck. You'd be surprised how much power you loose with that crap on.

Yea? Alright thanks for the help. I'll be getting that then. An entire conversion from stock SR MAF & Rubber to Z32 MAF & CAI, would be what... ~$400???

I don't know how much of that Power Intake kit is what comes IN the kit. But I think I'll just do the entire Z32 intake setup.
I have a filter similar to that.
Which SAFC do you suggest?
