this may be confusing; i bought a rebuild kit for my kad, asked if seller could switch standard pistons w/ 90-97 sohc pickup truck pistons, they did but when i went to install i saw that there were no slots for the wrist pin retaining clips, talked to seller and they told me i got the wrong ones, so they sent me what they called 90-97 sohc 240sx pistons, but i dont want to end up with 11.5 comp. vs. the 11.1 that i would supposedly get w/ truck pistons.

somewhere (on here?) i read that the sohc 240 pistons will result in the 11.5 comp. or 11.6 w/e, and that its the 90-97 soch pistons from the hardbody that only raise it to 11.1, thats why i got them, unless that info is wrong...

so please see pics and if someone who knows what is what could chime in or has pictures of exactly what each piston looks like that would be great. i know a lot of people on here did the sohc into dohc swap.

stock kad piston on right, 1st set i got w/out slots for retaining clips in middle, the (90-97 240sx) pistons on right

the tops of the pistons, 2nd set on left, 1st in middle, stock on right

the size of the new pistons is the exact same at any given measurement

also the first set that i got; is made of what looks like dull aluminum, have crisscross designs on the inside, and like i said they dont have slots for the retaining clips, and they didnt come with clips.
the second set is made of a shinier metal than the others, has a dark coating on the top section, dont have the crisscross design on the inside, and has slots for retaining clips to sit in and included the clips

so does my question make sense? basically i want to make sure they didnt give me 89 sohc pistons, or whatever the pistons are that will result in 11.5 and having to tune, run high octane, etc...
