i hate you. You people and your mesh...... j/k :p

Where on God's green earth did you find riken mesh in 16in. I cant find 16in mesh wheels anywhere. (Ford Crow Victoria wheels do not count). Oh well.

Oh, I've heard of that shop, thanks man!

j/k.

Anybody?

Dousan_PG

why not do it yourself? my friend did 4 of them for another friend. came out looking GREAT. repainting up next. took out ALL the curb rash (minus some big bend in one) but compared to how they were previously.

it took him about 3 hours per rim i think...over a few weeks period. now consider that amount of time and labor into a shop cost.

check w/ Alta used rim shop. try wheelchoice in anaheim they might have suggestions as well. call ANY aftermarket wheel shiop, im SURE they can recommend you somewhere.

Cool, yeah, well one of them has not a HUG dent, but there is a dent and I'm not too sure on the job I can do so I dont want to risk messing it up.

Yeah, I already checked with Alta and they said they don't repair. I'll call up the other place and see what they say. Thanks

Ok, I emailed wheelchoice but still haven't gotten a reply. Anybody else have any suggestions or advice?

hmm, I'm sure Dousan and my mutual friend would be more than willing to polish yours out for a reasonable fee! :) he does really, REALLY good work, too! got a completely messed up set of riken 15" mesh looking virtually brand new!

wpayne

Hmm..., ok, one has curb rashes and an acute dent but not htat big. the other one has a dent that like pushes in like 90 degrees of the rim but hardly noticeable.

How much are you asking and can you repair those?

Dousan_PG
01-21-2003, 09:56 AM

hey wpayne, i can also speak for dousan's and adey's friend. he fixed a set of my riken mesh that had really bad curb rash on every part of the lip, some little dents, and a pretty big dent. after a couple hours with him, the lips look PERFECT and the dent isn't really noticeable anymore. i don't think he can fix your rim if it's warped, but if it's just cosmetics, he'll be able to take care of it. he goes by driftingpanda here, so you should give him a pm if you're interested.

wpayne
01-21-2003, 12:48 PM
Damn, I'm only 19...I'm a youngin'.

Yeah, Sounds good, I'll see if I can borrow a digicam so I can take a picture and see if it'll be fixable. Thanks a lot fellas. Looking forward to saturday

dousan, adey, itsybitsy, you guys are too nice... i'm blushing. :p thanks for the kind words!

anyway... yes, i do lip polish, minor repair, and paint. i do not have the machinery to repair bends or dents, but i can make them appear less noticeable. all minor to moderate curb rashes can be COMPLETELY eliminated, "curb check" type rashes can be dramatically reduced. i have some 'before/after' pictures of my work on my camera... i'll post them up later. feel free to email me for pricing and more info!

by the way, alta quoted me $100 for cleaning/polishing, and $100 for wheel face painting (set of four). i was told if i bought rims from them it would be cheaper. the fixarim place does great work.. but their prices are meant for people who drive bmw's and such... just FYI.

happy 240'ing,
danny

wpayne
01-21-2003, 02:49 PM
Ok, well, I'll post some pics of the rims and can you tell me how fixable they are? Thanks. Oh, also I need to know how long this'll take cause I don't have any extra rims w/ tires.

Dousan_PG
01-21-2003, 03:00 PM
if danny does them for you, i have 2 steelies you can use if needs be. i shouldnt be using them i think..my spares

driftingpanda
01-21-2003, 03:10 PM
usually the minimal down time is about one day per wheel. "loaner" sets of wheels are avaliable, and one day rush work is also avaliable (at a fee). feel free to email with questions!

dousan, i think i have enough wheels sitting around for people to borrow... :p but thanks for your offer! by the way, how are you enjoying my ssr mesh? if camber and lip were currency you'd be a rich man my friend.

happy meshing,
danny

Dousan_PG
01-21-2003, 03:21 PM
lol yeah the SSRs rock. i would love to buy them from you at a future date.....

good news, i order my Bride Brix seat next week! WHOOT WHOOT! sold my FMIC and Safc. sick siiiick. takes 6-8 weeks though

car handles funky now, not used to it but i dig it. going to look for the lug nuts and thin socket after work at a few places. busy day again...but that's ok. :)

see you in a few days!!! cant wait!

wpayne
01-21-2003, 03:26 PM
Hey driftingpanda, could I get your email address so I can email you some pics of the rims?

This is a pic of my car! First ones :)

danny, like an idiot i left my steering wheel spacer at your house last night in the garage. can you grab it and have it for me on DD4? i might see you before then but if your up there, let me know.
d'oh!

wpayne
01-21-2003, 09:54 PM
Hey, are you guys all participating in DD4 or just checking it out? And does it cost just to go and check it out, I mean like an entrance fee to the track.

Dousan_PG
01-21-2003, 10:14 PM
we are all participating.
entrance is free if you come early in the day. later means they have ot hire more security and such so they will start to charge people.

wpayne
01-21-2003, 10:49 PM
So around what time should I show up? Oh, I was just wondering if all you guys are equipped wiht LSD. Drifting with an open-diff is extremely tricky and hard...

I need to invest in one.

Dousan, just wondering how that steering wheel spacer is working out. Sam (jspec) has one right now and I was considering to buy it. It is 30mm and I did an imaginary test with my hands today :D I tried putting my hands 30mm closer to me. It really didnt work out, and was wondering about opinions.

Im about 6ft and so I have long legs. I set the seat back just right, but then if I have the recline position to high (to get the correct seating position) I have to hunchback like EGOR so I wont hit my head. Need my wrists to be touching. I have to recline not to hit my head, but then sacrifice good seating poistion. Let me know!

Ah and I too will try to make it out to DD4. Look for the boro-S14 Concord Grey . Boro know cause humped curb awhile back (f'd my right rear arms/links and fender). I was runnung super postivite camber on the right rear for awhile!!! haha GROSS. SO sad, so sad. My car was a beauty before. Aw well. Luckily the FLT-A2's came out alive on that one! WHEW! I'll be lookn for the red s13 with the RSR sitcky on it. See ya.

HMMMM...sounds pretty good. Maybe I'll think about picking one up. So are you running a Nardi or a Personal hub as well? I am assuming that you picked the Classic up from Sam. But ya, I'll probably make it out there this Sat. You say be around there around 9ish???

ill post pic of my car tonight i hope...going to my friend who has a digital camera tonight so i will snap some. but at the track my wheels will be reversed (rears on front fronts on rear..you'll see when i post)
