View Full Version : How well will a auto transmission hold up to spirited driving

Thinking about taking some corners on a spirited drive maybe in the future with a group of other drivers. Not like racing or anything over the limit, and definitely no attempted drifting, but slightly aggressive. How well do you think my transmission will hold up. I had to get it rebuilt a while back so doesn't have many miles as it is. Hasn't even been a year since rebuild, but near that time I plan to get a flush and continue on 12 month intervals (think thats recommend time).

So do you think I have anything to wory about. Plan to just leave the car in drive. I don't expect the strain on the transmission to be more than say autocross, if anybody here does auto cross and has an automatic.

Thanks for any input

My AT took quite a bit of hard flogging and besides a slow leak, it still drove fine when I was using it as my DD.

Right. I havent really been taking my car hard in the turns too much since the trans. rebuild. Even then it wasn't back to back turns. Once I get a couple more replacement suspension pieces, and alignment I'd probably like too.
