I've recently bought a 89 coupe with an engine thats pretty much done. So I want to swap this.

I contacted a guy about his ka24de. He is selling it and says that the engine was pulled 3 years ago and it was running when it was pulled. Here are some pictures.

Basically I want to have some opinions about the condition based on the pictures, I'm guessing the pictures will not be very helpful to you, but I'm hoping to try it nevertheless.
Thanks in advance guys

Here are the pics:

Oh and one more thing. The engine is missing the harness. Supposedly, the SOHC harness that comes in my car will fit in.

I would only do it if you're doing a full teardown. Otherwise there's not telling what's inside the motah.

On that wiring stuff you better search before you get flamed.

The short answer is yes and no. Yes if you got mad wiring skillz, and no if you don't. Then you need to get a factory harness.

Supposedly, but no. Someone lied to you. Get a DOHC harness.

I guess I should have corrected that, but I figured it was clear in my thread.

Maybe just common sense would work, although with as rare as that commodity is getting, I think we'll be seeing infomercials on late at night offering free packages so you can send it in for cash.

All you really need are the connectors going to the various sensors. You can run your own wiring if you have an FSM.

But that would be outside of the level of skill/patience for most people on here.

What exactly could go wrong from it sitting? Nothing. The oil pump *could* be seized but as soon as you rotate the engine that's fixed. The only other issue would be dried up seals/gaskets, but anyone with a brain would replace those while it's out anyway.

It's not like ring lands blow or bearings spin when the engine is sitting.
