View Full Version : need help to pass smog. crank position sensor harness no clue

i have a s14 ka24de i checked my engine with a scanner and it told me i have 2 codes. 1st one was knock sensor and 2nd was crank position sensor. i changed the crank sensor thats all good now. now i bought a new position sensor. i cant seem to find the harness to it. where does it hook up to. the engine harness or the lower tranny harness does any1 know. also do u need a sub harness like the knock sensor has one. please help me

what????? It should be tied in with the tranny harness 6th plug up from rear (including rear02 sensor)

not if the car is an s13.
or he's using an s13 harness....
they dont come with a cps sensor on top of the tranny.

KA is under the intake manifold. Such a bitch to get to. But doable. I think it will be faster for you to take the manifold off.

That, what???? wasn't intended for you, it was for the OP. I think he means, that he changed the knock sensor.... I know s13 don't, but if the engine is an s14 and the ecu is throwing a code for it, I just assumed it was an s14 tranny and harness.
I did assume it was a swap at first, but he was sort of specific and didn't mention if the old cps was connected or not...
That's why i said I have an s13. To not be held liable for anything a type that may be stupid...
not if the car is an s13.
or he's using an s13 harness....

Crank angle sensor that sits on top of the tranny bellhousing??? Plugs in the lower harness.
