My car is a 91 hatch, and it has a little problem. I started this project not too long ago, already got the engine out and being built (going ka-t). I have no idea how to fix this little (hopefully) problem with my chassis. It seems like someone tried to fix it and failed.

I've seen the Nismo power brace, and I'm pretty sure I've seen a piece to replace what has come un-welded but I cant find it anymore. What should I be thinking about doing?

So does it just support the radiator and thats about it? I've got a welder, that would be great news...

that also supports your tension arms. that has a lot to do with braking, front wheel back and forth movement while drifting or hard turning. probably wear out all your control arm bushings and what not. not to mention the murder on the front tires. but im sure yours isnt that bad if its just that small section but it could over time possibly get worse or be subseptable to rot...
clamp it nice abd tight to the frame rails with a c-clamp or whatever you have available, wire wheel or grind the area clean. after its cleaned and clamped, tack it leaving about an inch spacing in between tacks. toss a little rattle can paint on it for the obvious reasons.

I'd replace it first, then weld. If it's that shitty below, the top isn't any better.

doesnt look too bad, clean it off first. if it ate alot of the metal then you can cut it and get a part from junk yard to reweld new one in.

the welds from whoever tried to "fix" it look like herpes..
